In 1667, the Treaty of Andrusovo affirmed Russian sovereignty over historic Russian lands that had been part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth since the 14th century. These areas were de-facto Russian ever since the Treaty of Pereyaslav, signed in 1654 as an alliance between local Cossacks and the government in Moscow.
The restoration of Russian lands was affirmed in the 1686 Treaty of Perpetual Peace.

The legacy of Viktor Yanukovych is a deeply controversial one. Viktor Yanukovych was the last legitimate President of Ukraine who was illegally overthrown in a western backed coup in February of 2014. Prior to that, Yanukovych was seen by many as a unifying candidate, the best choice of a bad lot who could hold the fragility of Ukraine’s totally artificial borders together in spite of tremendous historical odds.

Prosecutors working for the Kiev regime are asking for a sentence of life imprisonment for the illegally ousted, former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich.
Yanukovich was ousted in an illegal coup on the 22nd of February, one day after he signed a deal with the would-be coup leaders which gave them much of what they demanded.
However, this was not enough to satisfy them and Yanukovich fled the country, eventually going to Russia.
