LIONEL PODCAST: Why the Mainstream Media Will Not So Much As Utter “Bilderberg”

Secret? This year, the Bilderberg Group is meeting from June 11th to June 14th at the Interalpen Hotel which is near the city of Telfs, Austria. Have you heard of it? You’ve heard of Davos and G7 and G8 and Burning Man and The festival of San Fermin, or the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. Right? Of course I’m right.

Nuclear Weapons and the Language of “Power”

Or should that be the language of ‘assumed’ power?  The United Kingdom has been swamped by examples of sneering, belittling statements issuing from the Westminster bubble over the last few months, many of the insults being directed at Scotland during the Independence Referendum and the General Election, making the Scots justifiably angry and an increasing number of the English equally embarrassed.  That these comments came from all the main parties was an illustration of how low our political system has sunk.

Remember Your Humanity

This year, 2015, marks the 60th anniversary of the Russell-Einstein Manifesto, which contains the following words:

There lies before us, if we choose, continual progress in happiness, knowledge and wisdom. Shall we, instead, choose death, because we cannot forget our quarrels? The “great powers” are marking the centenary of World War One. Ironically the world is still at war. There are global and regional conflicts in progress. Rising tensions between India and Pakistan (two nuclear powers), civil wars in Iraq and Syria, as well as the on-going Palestinian Israeli “armed conflict” which continuous without an end in sight. Europe has not been spared the horrors of conflict in 2014 either. Ukraine has descended into a mutually agreed upon slaughter fest. Call it a proxy war if you like.

WWI: An Imperialist War

Commemorations of WWI have already begun in the West. Over ten million died in battle and another twenty million, soldiers and civilians alike, died from hunger and disease. In “War is the Health of the State“, an excerpt from his book, A People’s History of the United States, Howard Zinn wrote: “No one since [1914]…has been able to show that the war brought any gain for humanity.” It is important, therefore, to set the record straight and demonstrate that WWI was an imperialist war.
