Growing up conservative Evangelical, we loved Israel as much as we loved America– probably even more.

This Palestinian resistance is a spontaneous reaction to the most racist, far-right government in Israel’s history

 

Call it a religious crusade, a Jewish jihad or holy war. What’s clear is that violence is escalating and Netanyahu has no strategy for addressing Palestinian grievances short of more guns, more troops, more firepower and more blood (both Israeli and Palestinian).

I don’t believe any of these goals are possible unless Zionism is in fact kicked out of what is now Israel. That is, the ideology that drives Israeli racism and colonial expansion must be done away with, in the same way that apartheid was brought down in South Africa
