Jeff Bezos’ massive fortune rises $12 Billion in a single day

Amazon shares surged on Thursday, as the internet giant reported a huge earnings report that beat forecasts, with strong growth from AWS and advertising.
Amazon stock jumped almost 7 percent in after-hours trading. The company also announced it would raise the price of its Prime membership to $119 per year…a 20% increase.
The end result: Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest person, got a lot richer, to the tune of $134 billion…which begs the question, when is such wealth, in the hands of one individual, simply too much?

Internet users in the Russian Federation may have noticed something different in the last week or two. Many Internet sites that were available in March are no longer available now, at least not without a VPN in use to set the user’s computer outside the Russian Federation.
Is this government censorship?
Hardly, at least not in the expected sense of sanctioning the West.

In a free country, citizens do not have the right to use force against their neighbors to prevent them from selling their products below cost - even if their intent is to force competitors out of business. If we do not have that authority as individuals, we cannot delegate it to politicians to do it either, regardless of how much we may like the idea. Therefore, there should be no anti-trust laws, but there CAN and SHOULD be laws against favoring one company or consortium of companies over their competitors, which creates monopolies.
