The Monmouth Poll released yesterday indicates that "few Americans feel they have personally benefited a great deal from the nation’s growing economy, with the wealthy seen as getting a lot more help" from Trump and his cronies than working families.

I haven't seen him in a while, but I used to run into George Takei in one of my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurants all the time. It's an unspoken word in L.A. that you don't bother the celebrities, so I never did say anything to him. Takei is a good solid member of the Democratic Party and he often pushes the party line, feeling, no doubt, that he's doing God's work.

The Democratic tent-too-big Party didn't have anything much to offer voters in 2016 and millions of voters flocked to Trump. Two years later, many of those voters-- as well as some non-voters-- understand the scope of the catastrophe that Trump is. And they flocked to vote for Democrats running for Congress. Over 40 red seats flipped.

I recall-- vividly-- Trump's flat-out lies about not accepting SuperPAC money. While he was doing everything he could to scrounge it up, he was making fun of Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton and all the other 2016 presidential candidates for being puppets of the Big Money donors. He was too, of course, but he swore up and down he was self-financing his campaign. He lied from day one; and he never stopped lying. He still hasn't.
