2020 presidential nomination
The Difference Between Bernie And Elizabeth And The Rest Of The Field-- Bernie And Elizabeth Aren't Full Of Crap
Beto has lost a lot of momentum since he decided to run for president instead of taking on John Cornyn for the Texas Senate seat. Even some guy named Andrew Yang is polling better than he is. When Beto joined the presidential race, his fresh face gave him a startling 8.5 in the polls. Since then, though, Domocrats have reconsidered and his average polling number is now 2.8, seventh.
Status Quo Joe: 8 Million Pinocchios
Yesterday, James DeHaven of the Reno Gazette Journal reported that Bernie "took aim at Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden on Friday, telling a Carson City audience that the former vice president had distorted Sanders’ Medicare for All proposal during Thursday’s nationally televised debate...
Biden Taking Iraq Lies to the Max
-by Sam HusseiniSenior analyst with the Institute for Public AccuracyPresidential candidate Joe Biden is adding lies on top of lies to cover up his backing of the Iraq invasion. At Thursday night's ABC/DNC debate Biden lied about his Iraq record, just like he did at the first two debates. In the July debate, Biden claimed: “From the moment ‘shock and awe’ started, from that moment, I was opposed to the effort, and I was outspoken as much as anyone at all in the Congress.”When he first said that, it received virtually no scrutiny except for Mideast scholar Stephen Zunes, who wrote the piece
Is The Democratic Party Worth Reforming And Saving? Are We Stuck With It As Our Only Hedge Against Fascism?
Even before Biden showed how incoherent and unfit he is during yesterday's debate, Michael Hudson, University of Missouri in Kansas City economics professor and author of And forgive them their debts: Lending, Foreclosure and Redemption from Bronze Age Finance to the Jubilee Year, published a call to abolish the DNC and break up the Democratic Party.
A Little Something To Read About Status Quo Joe Before-- Or After-- Today's Debate
I wonder how many people will tune into today's Democratic primary debate to see what kind of gaffes-- and lies-- come out of Biden's mouth... and whether his facelift droops or a part part falls off him. Yesterday, as people were getting ready, the Franklin Pierce-Boston Herald poll came out with some especially bad new for old Status Quo Joe.
A Biden Nomination Would Be Worse Than Hillary's Was-- At Least She Wasn't Senile And Had Women Behind Her. Biden's Out Of It And He's Got Nothin'
Biden liked to cultivate an Uncle Joe image that he's largely given up on because of all the fondling of his young "nieces." And he's so senile and out of it that "Grandpa Joe" is far more appropriate now anyway. I'm not commenting on his age-- just his condition. And Biden's condition-- mental deterioration is what Fox and Hate Talk Radio focus on nonstop.
Mark Sanford Says He Doesn't Want To Be A Human Piñata, But...
About 3 weeks ago, former South Carolina governor and congressman announced he would probably be announcing a primary challenge to Trump. A practiced liar and career-long phony-- kind of a southern, more genteel version of Trump-- Sanford made a concerted attempt to sound authentic and accessible in his campaign video: "You can track me down at 843-737-1888..." I called and spoke with his secretary for 10 minutes. She said she's have him call me back.
Is The Climate Crisis Important Enough To You So That It Will Help Determine Who You Vote For In 2020?
Mike Siegel, the progressive candidate running for the Austin-to-Houston area corridor seat (TX-10) shakily occupied by Trump enabler Michael McCaul, put the above video together as part of his campaign to bring Texans along on the Green New Deal. It's worth listening and watching. About a month ago, Mike did a guest post here about the Climate Crisis town-hall he organized for September 21 and how environmental, labor and youth groups can work together to pass this existential program.
