Trump still has a motley collection of apologists-- the Fox News crew, hate talk radio hosts, self-serving politicians, neo-Nazi crackpots and their partners in the white evangelical movement-- but there is no longer anyone with an ounce of intellectual integrity defending Trump or unwilling to admit that he is, far and away, the worst "president" in American history-- off the scale (or on an entirely different scale)
I admit I hadn't heard about David Doel's show, the Rational National before. But here are two from consecutive days last week-- one up top and one at the bottom-- and he's talking about the same thing we were on those same days-- attacks on Bernie by the Wall Street Democrats, the Republican wing of the Democratic Party. I went so far as to list-- in the Meet The Scumbags section of this post-- the members of the Third Way Board of Directors and their Wall Street origins.
As Jonathan Bernstein made clear in an OpEd yesterday for Bloomberg News, Americans have become inured to deceit and manipulation from our political class. And he wasn't even speaking about Trump. His piece was on Paul Ryan's farewell speech. Unlike many inside the Beltway, Bernstein has long recognized Ryan as a faker and a fraud.
Ron Brownstein, reporting for CNN, offered the GOP a ton of bad news yesterday. Young voters were out in force last month-- and whether they like Democrats or not-- they punished the GOP severely, primarily for Trump.
