2020 congressional elections

Can You Imagine Being Endorsed By Dracula? Mussolini? Jack The Ripper? How About Steve King?

Every Democrat running for Congress against an incumbent Republican is hoping to find a video like this one of white supremacist Steve King endorsing his pal Donald J. Bacon. I hope Kara, the progressive Democrat running for the Omaha-based congressional district currently occupied by Bacon can make good use of it. This particular tape was mae in 2016 and shows King, the ardent white supremacist and rape-and-incest booster proudly endorsing Bacon. The two have been fast allies ever since, almost always voting in tandem. They both vehemently oppose a woman's right to Choice.

Has Steve King Resigned Yet?

J.D. Scholten came very close to beating racist incumbent Steve King in 2018. With no help from the DCCC, congenitally distrustful of progressives, Scholten a former baseball player and first-time candidate, outraised King better than three to one and, in a district with a PVI of R+11 where Obama lost both times and where Trump clobbered Hillary 60.9% to 33.5%, held King to just 50.3%.Since then, King was kicked off his committee for his unhinged racism and has been shunned by his own party.

Rachel Ventura plants a Green New Deal sign in East Aurora-by Rachel VenturaCandidateIL-11I have worn many hats in my life. As a 38-year old single mother of two beautiful and gifted twin girls, I have traveled America and the world when I was a military spouse. The Healthcare Crisis Can’t Wait Another Decade For A Solution

Corrupt Blue Dog David Scott represents a big swath of suburban Atlanta south and west of the the city, just below Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The biggest counties in the district (GA-13) are Cobb, Clayton, Douglas, Fulton, Henry and Fayette. Trump lost the first 5 and won in Fayette County. The PVI is a healthy, unassailable D+20.

My Experience at the Border-- Guest Post by Kara Eastman

For the past couple of years, my half-brother, an interpreter for the federal criminal court system in Las Cruces, New Mexico, has been telling me about devastating policy and procedural changes around immigration. Prior to the election of our current president, he had not seen children separated from their parents and guardians at the border. He had not seen so many people seeking asylum in the U.S. denied.

Mike Siegel Is Working To Begin The Green New Deal In Texas

On September 21, at Huston-Tillotson University, an historically-black college in Austin, progressive congressional candidate Mike Siegel convenes a conference on the Green New Deal with representatives from political organizations, youth and environmental movements and labor unions to address dealing with the climate crisis.

Has Texas' Time To Turn Blue-- Or At Least Less Red-- Finally Come?

Last cycle, just as the elections were getting started, the DCCC vice chair for the Texas region resigned. Ben Ray Lujan and Nancy Pelosi both said they would get a replacement quickly. They never did. The DCCC left several districts on the table out of shear incompetence. But Democrats did turn 2 vulnerable districts blue despite that. Today there are 13 Democratic seats and 23 Republican seats in Texas.

Jamaal Bowman-- The Bronx Could Wind Up With The Most Great Members Of Congress Anywhere In America

The district just north of AOC's-- NY-16-- is solidly blue with a PVI of D+24. Trump only managed to attract 22.5% of the voters. And yet, the district's Rep. is a long-in-the-tooth fossil who does far more for the Likud Party in Israel than for the people in the Bronx and Westchester. Eliot Engel is a New Dem in a district that is far more progressive than he is.
