A New York City police officer was convicted Monday of raping his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter as well as forcing her to perform oral sex on him in his car after he drove her to a father/daughter breakfast at her eighth-grade class.
Vladimir Krull, who will be sentenced on March 6, is facing up to 21 years in prison.
The 39-year-old man, who has since been fired from the NYPD, was ordered jailed without bail until his sentencing.
Krull had dated the girl’s mother for two years when he kissed her on the mouth in September 2013, according to DNA Info.
That progressed to him having sex with her on two occasions, including once inside her home, another time inside his car.
Then in June 2014, he ordered her to perform oral sex on him after he drove her to the father/daughter breakfast at her school.
Krull’s lawyer, Roger Blank, said he was disappointed in the verdict because there was no physical evidence linking him to the crime, including DNA and text messages.
The girl also testified he had an apple-sized heart tattoo with a ribbon around it, but his attorney said he had no such tattoo.
Nevertheless, after deliberating for five days, the jury convicted him of second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and child endangerment.
Krull was arrested in February 2015 after the girl’s mother reported him to police, sparking an internal affairs investigation.
Two months before his arrest, he was hailed as a hero for catching a bank robber.
Great arrest by Officers Joaquin Navarro and Mike Ball and Sgt Vladimir Krull catching a bank robber in the act on Madison Avenue today.
