in the night.

cover they slip
into countries
whose elected
leaders Wall
Street doesn’t
abide, leaders
who resist the
slavery of capital,
who steer a course,
instead, towards
decency. Once
there, they plot
and scheme,
instigating violent
unrest, turning
the streets
a sea of red
and a smiling
assassin puts
a bullet
in the leader’s
heart and the
United States
of Counter-
Democracy
declares another
victory for freedom,
while the invisible
killers quietly
move on to
another target.
