Thursday morning the obese occupant of the Oval Office waddled downstairs to meet with Rebecca Ballhaus, Michael C. Bender, Peter Nicholas and Louise Radnofsky of the Wall Street Journal for an interview that went on and on and on, mostly pointlessly. He had 3 minders with him: Hope "piece of ass" Hicks, Huckabee's unfortunate daughter and Gary Cohn. Some of Señor Trumpanzee's statements must have been worse than his "shithole" comments because they were off the record and not reported on (yet). One of the topics he babbled on about was the nature of the U.S.-U.K. relationship, which he said is not "permanent." (A couple of weeks ago he gave Prince Harry an ultimatum that he had to chose between Obama and Tumpanzee as wedding guests and Prince Harry ignored his childish bluster.)Señor T was supposed to have visited London in February and he used the WSJ interview as a platform to announce he wouldn't be going because it would seem like he was blessing Obama's bad real estate deal-- which was a George W. Bush decision, not Obama's deal at all. A Trumpanzee crony, Ambassador Woody Johnson had invited Trump to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new embassy. The real reason for the cancelation isn't unknown. The mass protests planned against the widely hated foul-mouthed, ignorant slob were going to be horrific. Rex Tillerson, who isn't seen as someone worth protesting, will cut the ribbon instead.
The London mayor, Sadiq Khan, said Trump had “got the message” that many Londoners staunchly opposed his policies and actions.“It appears that President Trump got the message from the many Londoners who love and admire America and Americans but find his policies and actions the polar opposite of our city’s values of inclusion, diversity and tolerance,” Khan said on Friday.“His visit next month would without doubt have been met by mass peaceful protests. This just reinforces what a mistake it was for Theresa May to rush and extend an invitation of a state visit in the first place.”The prime minister invited Trump for a state visit when she became the first world leader to visit the president in the White House a year ago. Activists immediately pledged to stage protests and MPs have said they would not give the president the opportunity to address parliament.
Asked about Trump’s cancellation, a Downing Street spokesman repeated the government’s longstanding position that “an invitation has been extended and accepted, but no date has been set.”...Citing security and environmental reasons, the US state department agreed to sell the current embassy building in Grosvenor Square to the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Co, which plans to turn it into a luxury hotel. Estimates put the site’s value at £500m before it was made a listed building, which would have diminished the value because of restrictions on development.British relations with the president hit a low late last year when May criticised his decision to retweet videos posted by the far-right extremist group Britain First.Trump responded by tweeting directly to the prime minister that she should focus on tackling domestic terrorism. The government was so concerned about his decision to share the videos that Britain’s ambassador to Washington, Sir Kim Darroch, took the rare step of raising the issue directly with the White House.
Trump also told the WSJ reporters that he feels "betrayed" by Steve Bannon, who he said had become ineffectual “because he was such a lightning rod... I feel betrayed because you’re not supposed to do that, but I have many people that work for me who were far more important than Steve." He also accused FBI agent, Peter Strzok of "treason" and said he thought he probably had a "very good relationship with Kim Jong Un of North Korea." When one of the started reporters asked Trumpanzee if he had ever spoken to Kim, the delusional Trumpanzee said "I don’t want to comment on it-- I don’t want to comment, I’m not saying I have or I haven’t." He added: "[Y]ou see that a lot with me and then all of a sudden somebody’s my best friend. I could give you 20 examples. You give me 30. I’m a very flexible person." He's also a stable genius... but you knew that already.
