Scientists Create ‘Synthetic Embryos’ From Mice Stem Cells Instead of Fertilized Eggs

Scientists at the Weizmann Institute in Israel found that instead of using a fertilized egg to create an embryo, stem cells from mice can be made to self-assemble into early embryo-like structures with an intestinal tract, the beginnings of a brain, and a beating heart.
