(ANTIMEDIA) — A Florida woman has been charged with murder after she allegedly lured a teenager into the woods to kill him as revenge for raping her daughter, according to court documents filed last week.
Connie Serbu, a mother of two, reported the incident herself, police say. Serbu claims Xavier Sierra, 18, had on two occasions sexually assaulted her young daughter. She took full responsibility for Sierra’s death.
“So I don’t care, he raped my daughter…she told me everything that happened,” Serbu told authorities, according to court documents. The mother was alerted to the episodes by her daughter in May of 2016, years after the events allegedly took place.
Authorities claim Serbu admitted “it’s all my fault” in an effort to protect her brother, 29-year-old John Vargas, who was of limited mental capacity and who Serbu persuaded to assist in the plot.
According to documents, Serbu used the pretext of paying Sierra to install bunk beds in her home. But when the mother and Vargas picked the teen up that day in July of last year, the plan was already in motion, the Naples Daily News reported:
“Investigators said Vargas and Serbu left her house with two guns registered to Serbu, two stun guns, a potato to use as a silencer, an ice pick, plastic gloves, bags and paper towels before picking Sierra up.”
The brother and sister allegedly drove their victim to a secluded wood where Sierra attempted to flee. The pair ran him down, however, and in the violence that followed both Sierra and Vargas were killed.
Authorities claim that after learning of her daughter’s rape in May, Serbu had expressed to friends and family a desire to kill Sierra, with one friend advising her to go to the police instead of acting on her own.
The investigation is ongoing, and local law enforcement has yet to comment further on the case.
