- Ivy Lee (1877-1934) was a propagandist whose most notorious contribution to US culture was persuading John D. Rockefeller to feign generosity by giving dimes in public to unsuspecting youths as a pretense for promoting their “entrepreneurial” activity and thrift.
- DIME, dense inert metal explosive. A weapon developed by the Lawrence Livermore National (Weapons) Laboratory in California. Using inert metals like tungsten (for which the US waged war against Korea in 1952 to get on the cheap), this explosive leaves pulverised shrapnel in the body which cannot be extracted by any surgical procedure– making it an ideal weapon for slaughtering civilians while leaving their homes in tact.
