NBC News Is Asked to Immediately Issue a Public Apology
Today, on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 1:00 PM (ET), the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. sent its official request for public retraction and apology to the relevant divisions at NBC News.
On Thursday, July 21, Newsbud contacted officials at the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC and requested the Turkish government’s official response to the false information released and disseminated by NBC News during the early hours of the Attempted Coup in Turkey where they claimed that Turkish President Erdogan had fled Turkey and was requesting Asylum in Germany.
Today, on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 1:50 p.m. the Turkish Embassy’s press office responded to Newsbud’s inquiry via e-mail, and indicated that Turkey’s official demand for immediate public apology and retraction had been submitted to the relevant divisions of NBC News at 1:00 p.m. (ET) today- Monday, July 25, 2016.
We are currently awaiting NBC News’ public statement issuing a formal retraction and apology.
Please contact NBC and demand that NBC issue its public retraction & apology immediately.
