Sheesh!I KNOW I PROMISED TO SHUT UP (AND I DID PRETTYWELL, DIDN'T I?), BUT JUST ONE FINAL THOUGHTGoodness knows, the Watergate story didn't lack for bizarre elements, but this may be the bizarrest of all, this final episode of Deep Throat emerging as a superannuated chorus boy.So here's my thought: In 2013 Robert Redford's Sundance Productions produced an hour-and-a-half documentary follow-up to the Redford- and Dustin Hoffman-starring 1976 film version of All the President's Men (directed by Alan J. Pakula, with a script by William Goldman based on the Woodward-Bernstein book chronicling their Watergate adventure). "All the President's Men" Revisited, which won an Emmy documentary nomination, featured interviews with many of the actual players in the saga, and even included the disclosure of the identity of Deep Throat. I know it's a little unorthodox, but it's a documentary, after all, and don't you think it needs a brief update to incorporate this bizarre final episode?One final final thought: I see there's a temptingly priced 2013 two-disc Blu-ray special edition of All the President's Men that includes "All the President's Men" Revisited and assorted other special features.
