Breaking! "Rebels" aka Terrorists, call for ceasefire as SAA recaptures Aleppo city. Russian Killed. Israeli Strikes & More

I've been updating as news is breaking so bear with me, ok?Aleppo RecoveredAlbawaba

Syrian government forces have reportedly recaptured all of Aleppo's historic 'Old City', pushing the last remaining rebels there out.The British-based monitoring group, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said an army advance on Tuesday and overnight, supported by heavy air strikes and shelling, caused insurgents to withdraw from the Old City. The report indicates that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime, helped by its ally Russia, is closer than ever to what would be its biggest victory of the conflict – retaking eastern Aleppo in its entirety. The Syrian army advance has already seen rebels lose two thirds of the besieged enclave.Insurgents /Terrorists are now calling for a five-day ceasefire, talks about Aleppo's future, and medical and civilian evacuations. The Kremlin however looks in no mood to back down – describing all rebels left in Aleppo as 'terrorists' and announcing that rebel/terrorist shelling has killed a Russian military adviser there.

Russian military adviser killed by shelling in Aleppo

A Russian military adviser working in Aleppo has been killed by artillery shelling carried out by Syrian opposition rebels, Russian news agencies quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying on Wednesday. The adviser would be posthumously given a top military award, the agencies said. The death of the military adviser comes two days after two Russian nurses were killed in a rocket attack on a Russian military hospital in Aleppo.

The strike on the hospital by terrorists, who were undoubtedly provided coordinates by their allies in US/UK/Israel/NATOSyria Rejects The Offer of Ceasefire!!!Syrian government takes Aleppo Old City, rejects proposed ceasefire

The rebels are pushing for a five-day truce and the evacuation of injured people and civilians from eastern Aleppo - but the Syrian government has rejected this proposal."We will not accept any truce," Fares Shehabi, a member of parliament for Aleppo, told dpa by telephone. "If they do not leave we will continue our attack," he warned the armed groups.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said all rebels who choose to remain in the collapsing enclave will be deemed as linked to al-Qaeda's wing in Syria, a strong force in the country."The exit was offered to them and this issue was discussed earlier," Peskov said about the rebels, according to the Russian state news agency TASS. "Unfortunately, only few have exited," he added.

Yesterday very early reporting seemed to indicate it was Israel- Two strikes in 24 hoursSANA

The Israeli enemy launched at 3:00 am Wednesday a number of surface-to-surface missiles from inside the occupied territories to the west of Tall Abu al-Nada (hill) that landed in the surroundings of al-Mezzeh Airport west of Damascus, a military source said.

The source told SANA that the attack caused a fire to erupt in the site where the missiles hit, adding that no human casualties were reported.

The source noted that the attack is part of the “desperate attempts” of the Israeli enemy to support the terrorist groups and raise their deteriorating morale. This attack, the source stressed, will only make the Syrian Arab Army “even more determined to cut off the hands of the terrorist agents of the Zionist entity, which should be held fully responsible for the repercussions and consequences of these criminal attacks.”

Today’s attack came a week after the air force of the Israeli army fired from the Lebanese airspace two missiles on al-Sabboura area in the western countryside of Damascus, in an attempt to divert attention from the successes which the Syrian army has been making against the terrorist organizations.

Israeli warplanes hit an area near Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's palace early morning, causing multiple fires and explosions at Damascus' military airport.

No deaths or injuries have been reported and neither the Syrian nor the Israeli armed forces have commented on the attack which struck Mezzeh Military Airport around 4am.It is understood that Israel was targeting Hizballah positions near the airport, in the second such strike in 24 hours.

If you have a barf bag handy feel free to read this joint statement on Aleppo. It is truly nauseating: The leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the UK and the United States gave a joint statement on the situation in Aleppo. Joint statement on Aleppo: 7 December 2016*Notice the absence of Turkey in that joint statement? Whew! The past 24 hours have been busy!
