The current working world has gone well beyond a rat race for most people. Hours worked and demands for results have only increased for individuals, and a corresponding increase in wages has not come. It seems we all will work ourselves into the ground at this rate, but what if a dramatic change is on the horizon? A sudden spike in unemployment due to automation and robotization is very likely. If such an event comes it could bring a serious economic upheaval and a crisis in the job market the likes of which has never been seen before. This may be dramatic enough to hasten in policies for Basic Income.
