No matter where you look in Biden's record, it's disgustingOn September 20, 2007, the GOP successfully manipulated the pusillanimous Senate Dems into backing John Cornyn's resolution to condemn MoveOn.org. It passed 72 to 25, with three cowardly Dems hiding in the bathrooms (Biden, Obama and Cantwell). Most of the Democrats who voted for it-- like Joe Lieberman, Mary Landrieu, Max Baucus, Blanche Lincoln and Claire McCaskill-- are no longer senators, either dead, defeated or working as lobbyists. But some are still in the Senate today:
• Ben Cardin (D-MD)• Tom Carper (D-DE)• Bob Casey (D-PA)• Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)• Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)• Patrick Leahy (D-VT)• Jon Tester (D-MT)
While Biden and Obama were hiding, Harry Reid and Hillary had the guts to vote NO, as did Bernie, of course, and Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Richard Durbin (D-IL), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Patty Murray (D-WA), Jack Reed (D-RI), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Ron Wyden (D-OR).In the House 146 Democrats joined all 195 Republicans to pass the resolution 341-79. Although almost all of them are dead, in prison, retired or working as lobbyists, the same Blue Dog and New Dem scumbags still in the House today were eager to follow Rahm Emanuel, Steve Israel and Steny Hoyer and join the GOP against MoveOn. A dozen examples:
• Sanford Bishop (Blue Dog-GA)• Jim Cooper (BlueDog-TN)• Jim Costa (BlueDog-CA)• Henry Cuellar (BlueDog-TX)• Eliot Engel (New Dem-NY)• Kirsten Gillibrand (BlueDog-NY)• Ron Kind (BlueDog-WI)• Dan Lipinski (BlueDog-IL)• Stephen Lynch (New Dem-MA)• Ed Perlmutter (New Dem-CO)• Colin Peterson (BlueDog-MN)• Mike Thompson (BlueDog-CA)
Are there a dozen examples of members of Congress back then who are still fighting against fascism and who courageously voted against the amendment? Yep, here are a bakers dozen:
• Steve Cohen (D-TN)• Al Green (D-TX)• Raul Grijalva (D-AZ)• Mazie Hirono (D-HI)• ay Inslee (D-WA)• Barbara Jackson-Lee (D-TX)• Barbara Lee (D-CA)• John Lewis (D-GA)• Ed Markey (D-MA)• Jim McGovern (D-MA)• Jerry Nadler (D-NY)• Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)• Maxine Waters (D-CA)
I hope you've noticed that among the current presidential candidates, Bernie voted no, as did Jay Inslee (and Tim Ryan). Voting with the Republicans: Kirsten Gillibrand and Amy Klobuchar... and then there was Biden... hiding in the toilet and hoping no one would notice him.
