Earlier, a fake Twitter account supposedly belonging to Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov had stated that a sniper had indeed been arrested, but that information has since been disproved by all relevant authorities.
The Independent is reporting- "There were indications that it was the separatist Crimean government’s recently created “Self Defence Forces” who had actually carried out the fatal attack. Local officials, meanwhile, claimed that “fascist snipers” had fired the first shot from a residential building and one of the injured was one of the defence force members"
Maybe it a was a sniper or two like Delta, former IDF, present day soldier of fortune. Hired killer. These conflicting stories?
Later, around a dozen troops arrived in two vehicles without registration numbers and started moving towards the base of the Mapping and Navigation Service at Kubanskaya Street. There were two prolonged bursts of gunfire, followed by several single shots. Soon afterwards soldiers inside started calling journalists.
So these soldiers were under threat and they start calling journalists? Hmmmmm..... Notice "Later"? Later,when? After the sniper fire? In response to reports of snipers?
Telling journalists- “A serviceman, Ukrainian, has been wounded in the neck and collarbone.Now we have barricaded ourselves on the second floor. The headquarters has been taken and the commander has been taken. They want us to put down our arms, but we don’t intend to surrender.”
Very brave? Or utter nonsense? The Ukranian headquarters? Was it offering safe haven to the snipers? Hence the troops arriving?
The officer, believed to be a Captain Valentin Fedun, was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Was Captain Fedun outside also? It would make sense. Because the dead Ukrainian officer was outside of the base.
The dead Ukrainian officer is thought to have been outside the base when he was gunned down.-
Continuing from the Independent- Local authorities presented a different version of what had taken place. A police officer said: “There were snipers who were using peoples’ homes to start shooting, that was the provocation. One of those injured was from the Self Defence Forces.”
That isn't really a different version- Here is what seems plausible to me. The snipers were definitely outside- they could have been using the soldiers barracks or surrounding homes to target all victims. It would seem this was known to some of the Ukrainian men inside the buildings. We do have reports of more then one of them feeding a narrative line to the media- It would seem they were NOT in fear for their lives?The local defence forces arrive, one is hit, killed by sniper fire and the rest move in to take control of the area. The men inside are ordered to put their arms down. Definite provocation on the part of NATO.

Dear friends, we have gathered here today in connection with an issue that is of vital, historic significance to all of us. A referendum was held in Crimea on March 16 in full compliance with democratic procedures and international norms
More than 82 percent of the electorate took part in the vote. Over 96 percent of them spoke out in favor of reuniting with Russia. These numbers speak for themselves
To understand the reason behind such a choice it is enough to know the history of Crimea and what Russia and Crimea have always meant for each other.
Everything in Crimea speaks of our shared history and pride. This is the location of ancient Khersones, where Prince Vladimir was baptized. His spiritual feat of adopting Orthodoxy predetermined the overall basis of the culture, civilization and human values that unite the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The graves of Russian soldiers whose bravery brought Crimea into the Russian empire are also in Crimea. This is also Sevastopol – a legendary city with an outstanding history, a fortress that serves as the birthplace of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Crimea is Balaklava and Kerch, Malakhov Kurgan and Sapun Ridge. Each one of these places is dear to our hearts, symbolizing Russian military glory and outstanding valor.
Crimea is a unique blend of different peoples’ cultures and traditions. This makes it similar to Russia as a whole, where not a single ethnic group has been lost over the centuries. Russians and Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars and people of other ethnic groups have lived side by side in Crimea, retaining their own identity, traditions, languages and faith.
Incidentally, the total population of the Crimean Peninsula today is 2.2 million people, of whom almost 1.5 million are Russians, 350,000 are Ukrainians who predominantly consider Russian their native language, and about 290,000-300,000 are Crimean Tatars, who, as the referendum has shown, also lean towards Russia.
True, there was a time when Crimean Tatars were treated unfairly, just as a number of other peoples in the USSR. There is only one thing I can say here: millions of people of various ethnicities suffered during those repressions, and primarily Russians.
Crimean Tatars returned to their homeland. I believe we should make all the necessary political and legislative decisions to finalize the rehabilitation of Crimean Tatars, restore them in their rights and clear their good name.
We have great respect for people of all the ethnic groups living in Crimea. This is their common home, their motherland, and it would be right – I know the local population supports this – for Crimea to have three equal national languages: Russian, Ukrainian and Tatar.........
