Texas Cop Arrested in Uniform “Wanted to Marry” Girlfriend’s 13-Year-Old Daughter he Molested More Than 20 Times

A Texas cop who also worked as a juvenile detention officer was arrested in uniform on Tuesday for repeatedly sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter.
Elmendorf cop Jesus Gonzalez, 42 was charged with continuous sex abuse of a child, a first degree felony, according to KSAT.
The mother of the girl contacted police after finding indecent pictures on her daughter’s cell phone, discovering the young girl had been texting lewd photos to her boyfriend at his request.
After she reported the rape, her daughter confessed to San Antonio investigators the assaults had taken place more than 20 times between September until a week before Christmas.
Besides being a reserve police officer for the Elmendorf Police Department, Gonzalez was also an entry-level juvenile detention officer at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center in San Antonio, which is just north of Elmendorf.
However, he resigned from that job on December 12 after facing disciplinary attendance issues unrelated to the sex allegations. And he resigned from the Elmendorf Police Department on Tuesday, the day of his arrest.
According to the arrest affidavit, officer Gonzalez told the girl he wanted to marry her and that he was in love with her.
Most of the assaults happened at a residence at the San Antonio Medical Center, although one reportedly happened during vacation. It is not clear how or why he had access to that residence.
The two communicated though the Kik app and Instagram.
Gonzalez was suited up in his uniform and armed when police confronted and arrested him for molesting the girl.
San Antonio police would not reveal where Gonzalez worked Thursday morning, but Elmendorf Police Chief Marco Peña confirmed Gonzalez has been a reserve officer with the Elmendorf Police Department since October during a Friday press conference.
During the presser, Chief Peña said Juvenile Probation is now interviewing Gonzalez’s superiors to determine if there may have been other instances of abuse.
“Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t know what individuals–what’s in their minds and their hearts sometimes,” the chief said, adding he was “saddened” and “appalled.”
Gonzalez worked for several departments over the past 18 years, including the Natalia and Alamo Colleges police departments. He was fired from the latter in 2014 for “failure to report to duty,” according to KENS 5.
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement records show Gonzalez completed training courses required by his department pertaining to rape and sexual abuse.
Gonzales is currently being held on $75,000 bond at the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio.
