The Rise and Fall of Nicolae Ceausescu, “the Romanian Fuehrer”
On Christmas Day in 1989, Romanian communists Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu were found guilty of committing genocide and subverting state power. Their sentence—execution by firing squad—was carried out that day.
