Fracturing of Diplomatic Relations Sets World on Dangerous Path
...Saudi Arabia’s influence in forcing other nations, especially those in Africa, to cut ties with Iran has been significant. Djibouti severed ties with Iran over the storming of the Saudi Arabia in Tehran. In 2010, the former regime of Yahya Jammeh in Gambia, a predominantly Sunni nation, severed ties with Iran. A year before, Morocco severed relations with Iran over charges that Iran was spreading Shi’a beliefs to predominantly Sunni Morocco. Quietly, the Saudis supported the Moroccan move.

Why Economists Missed the Arab Spring
The sixth anniversary of the Arab Spring uprisings this year came and went largely unnoticed. Unlike in previous years, there was no torrent of commentary about the tumultuous events that shook the Arab world and seemed to promise a transformation of its politics.

Coming soon…’Smoking gun’ showing Obama White House spied on Trump team
Turnabout is fair play.
In 2010, Fox News reporter James Rosen was spied on extensively by the Obama Justice Department…collecting his telephone records, tracking his movements in and out of the State Department and seizing two days of Rosen’s personal emails. -
Russophobia – Symptom of US Implosion
There was a time when Russophobia served as an effective form of population control – used by the American ruling class in particular to command the general US population into patriotic loyalty. Not any longer. Now, Russophobia is a sign of weakness, of desperate implosion among the US ruling class from their own rotten, internal decay.

This is why Obama White House is in trouble, it failed to “mask” American names (Video)
House intelligence committee chairman Devin Nunes went on Fox News show ‘Hannity’ to provide insight on the bombshell revelation that Trump was indeed spied on by the Obama deep state.
Why were names unmasked, and then allowed to spread throughout all intelligence agencies?
Devin Nunes notes… -
Why America Can't Win the War in Afghanistan
The Washington Post published an opinion piece written by Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham, which argued that the war in Afghanistan is in a stalemate and the only way to break that stalemate is to give the commanding general more combat troops. If the president follows their advice, then the almost certain outcome will be an increase in U.S. casualties without any strategic impact on the outcome. The war will continue on without end or purpose.

Turkey, NATO: Getting Closer to Divorce
Turkey has been a NATO ally since 1952, and US aircraft have used Incirlik Air Base in the south during the operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. The base is home to a stockpile of US tactical nuclear weapons. A perusal of media reports leads to the conclusion that Turkey and NATO are heading for a major rift or even a breakup – a problem the North Atlantic alliance hasn’t experienced in its nearly seven decades of existence.

Devin Nunes just set the cat down among the pigeons. The U.S. intelligence community, […]

Is Trump Another Obama on Foreign Policy?
United States foreign policy involves miserable choices. Were George W. Bush’s two boots on the ground wars worse than Barack Obama’s dabbling in six different countries with war robots, and his precedent-setting assassinations of American citizens? Was FDR worse than Harry Truman for pure body-count, even though the latter is responsible for the only use(s) […]

War on Terror Unites Trump and the Establishment
It’s conventional wisdom that Washington, DC is a city marked by gridlock. Republicans obstructed President Obama’s agenda on principle, as Democrats are attempting to do now with Donald Trump. US Intensifies its Presence in Northeast Asia
Following the assessment by the US Secretary of Defense of the situation in the Northeast Asian region, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was subsequently sent on a tour. In the period from March 16 to 19, Tillerson visited Japan, the Republic of Korea and China. The fact that two high officials of the US administration made (within a period of one and a half months) a tour in Northeast Asia certainly speaks of the continuing prioritization by the new President of the US foreign policy on Asia.

A Greek perspective on Donald Trump, Brexit, and media hysteria
It’s a typical winter’s evening in Athens. This has been a cold winter, and the air is brisk. And wherever I go, the sweet smell of “success” is in the air. By “success” I am referring to none other than the vaunted “European dream,” and the “success story” of the Greek economy, as described by Greece’s former prime minister Antonis Samaras in late 2014, and as often repeated—even if not in those exact terms—by Greece’s “first time left” prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, far more recently.

Comey Lied? Trump Vindicated? Ron Paul says Nobody’s Safe From PATRIOT Act
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) dropped a bombshell yesterday when he revealed that members of the Trump campaign staff – possibly including Trump himself – had their communications intercepted by US intelligence. The surveillance was likely undertaken under expanded spying permission granted by section 702 of the post-9/11 FISA amendments. This provision enables the NSA to listen in to and keep information from phone calls of US citizens as long as the person on the other end is believed to be a non-US citizen overseas.

Syria must revive Pan-Arabism after the conflict is settled
The 21st century has witnessed what many would call a sharp decline in the strength and stability in governments promoting Arab nationalism.
