So. California Releases 7 High-Risk Sex Offenders, One Re-Arrested 4 Days Later

Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes said that he was forced to release 45% of the inmates in the Orange County Jail in April, including seven registered sex offenders, but said that there was no reason to set criminals free as the jails was not overcrowded and social distancing guidelines are being followed.

The Philadelphia Police Department will be delaying arrests for an array of crimes including narcotics, thefts, burglary, vandalism, prostitution, stolen cars, and economic crimes in hopes of curbing spread of coronavirus. The city will also be releasing prisoners to continue “social distancing.”
