at the end of Clash of Civilizations, after confronting the Muslim world in the Mideast in order to steal their oil, Sam then has the US “pivot” to confront China. The book ends with a war between the US and China. It is this Brzezinski-Huntington Policy that we are now seeing put into operation by the Obama administration both in Ukraine against Russia and against China at the same time. Can World War III be far behind?

While NATO member states and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC ) persist in presenting Syria as a dictatorship, the country continues its reforms. On June 3, it will elect its President of the Republic, while the war continues to ravage a part of its territory. Damascus is doing everything possible to ensure that this election is democratic and blameless, while its attackers have instructed their media to minimize the coverage and their jihadists to disrupt the procedings.
It is mind-boggling that the PA expects others to take its threats seriously

What many people don’t realize is the UK was interfering in the Syria war before the vote – arming and training the Syrian insurgents fighting to overthrow the Assad Government. And although a US-UK military strike has been averted, the UK is continuing to support the insurgents.

The Japanese Nuclear Regulatory Agency is currently considering applications from 8 different utilities companies to restart 17 of the nation’s 54 nuclear reactors, which have been taken offline in the wake of the Fukushima crisis. Today we talk to Aileen Mioko Smith of Green Action Japan about the anti-nuclear movement in Japan and their efforts to stop the reactor restarts from happening.
The Naval War College, based in Newport, Rhode Island, runs a special 11-month course for foreign Navy officers. On February 3, the Naval War College held a special morning session at the Hoover Institution, where I am a research fellow. I was invited to speak. The best invites, in my experience, are those for which […]
For those of us who wondered "whatever happened to the ‘Asian pivot?’" the answer is now in: it was the diplomatic-strategic equivalent of vaporware, i.e. it was never a Serious Thing in the first place. For those not familiar with the foreign policy wonk-speak, the Asian Pivot was supposed to have been a major turning […]
Originally posted at TomDispatch. In mid-April, Abu Ghraib was closed down. It was a grim end for the Iraqi prison where the Bush administration gave autocrat Saddam Hussein a run for his money. How humiliating it must be for Miss McConnell to be prostrating himself before Rand Paul like his job depended on it. It wasn't that long ago that McConnell recruited Trey Grayson to run as the Kentucky Establishment candidate against Paul, who McConnell helped paint as a whacky Tea Party extremist.

Now that the demonization of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is in full swing, one has to wonder when the neocons will unveil their plan for “regime change” in Moscow, despite the risks that overthrowing Putin and turning Russia into a super-sized version of Ukraine might entail for the survival of the planet.
Tomorrow is the last day of our Beatles contest celebrating Barbara Lee's endorsement of Lee Rogers. The winner is going to get that very collectible, 32" x 24" iconic Beatles image up top. The portrait was shot by Robert Freeman, the band's favorite photographer, for the cover of With The Beatles. Freeman, who did 5 album covers for them starting in 1963, signed this one.

Pro-Russian protesters have seized a local state TV station in the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, demanding that Russian TV channels be broadcast there. They also want to launch a “Donetsk People’s Republic” TV channel.
According to media reports, technical work is currently being done at the TV station to restart the transmission of Russian channels. Itar-Tass reports that some Russian TV channels have resumed work in Donetsk.
“What happened today is part of an ongoing campaign to intimidate the local population: Israeli forces harass children here in Hebron all the time”.
At approximately 7 am on April 23rd, Rami Rajabi, a six-year-old child, was 20 meters away from checkpoint 29 when he threw several pebbles in al-Khalil (Hebron). As Rami walked away towards his school, three Israeli soldiers burst out of an alleyway, grabbed his arm, and detained him in the street.
Posting below some audio I took as was sitting, interviewing a restaurant owner, Abu Shadi, last night in the old city of Damascus. As it happened, got two of four mortars on audio. The first occurred around 7:05 pm, which Abu Shadi estimated to be 200 metres away, his friend corrected him saying it was only 50 metres away (also about 20 metres from my hotel). Roughly 10 minutes later, the second mortar. There were two other mortars within half an hour.
It is indeed Sunday, and I am of course presenting here my usual "Rant" where I take a look at what is happening around the world. I take what we are being told by the liars in the mainstream media and rip that to shreds...I have been under attack again for my statement that the media is controlled by the Jews... I honestly do not know what planet these morons are from or if they have been living under a rock for the longest time because of course almost ALL of our media and ALL of so called "Hollywood" (which I rightfully call Jewlywood) is completely controlled by the "tribe".....

Military conscription could be returned in Ukraine – Defense Minister
The Armed Forces of Ukraine could return military conscription, acting Defense Minister Mykhailo Koval has stated.
“The army will be professional – this is the future of the Armed Forces. But now the Armed Forces are not ready for this. Therefore we might have to return 21-23-years-old men for a while, and they will serve the state,” he told reporters in Kyiv on Saturday.

At some point it will be too late. Earth may become uninhabitable. I can imagine Koch grandchildren firing up their spaceships and taking off for the next planet they'll destroy. Maybe they'll take along the conservative legislators and political entrepreneurs who aided and abetted them along for the ride. I mean, even when they get to Planet X, someone has to wash the dishes and dig the ditches. The rest of us? We'll curse our grandparents for not having saved us when they could of. I keep a list of Koch products handy and go out of my way to avoid them when I shop.
