More action is needed to stop militants (?) acquiring plutonium or highly-enriched uranium that could be used for atomic bombs, nuclear experts and government officials said on Monday. Analysts say radical groups could theoretically build a crude but deadly nuclear bomb if they have the money, technical knowledge and the amount of fissile material needed. Speaking at a meeting in Vienna, Yukiya Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), warned against a "false sense of security" over the danger of nuclear terrorism.Amano, holding up a small lead container said to have been ( prop for psyop?) used try to traffic highly enriched uranium in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova two years ago, said it showed a "worrying level of knowledge on the part of the smugglers"."This case ended well," he said. "Unfortunately, we cannot be sure if such cases are just the tip of the iceberg."U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz repeated Washington's assertion that al Qaeda had been trying for years to obtain nuclear material for a weapon."Despite the strides we have made in dismantling core al Qaeda we should expect its adherents...to continue trying to achieve their nuclear ambitions," he said.
If al Qaeda were to obtain nuclear weapons or set off a so called dirty bomb, who would have provided them with the means?Considering US/Israel/NATO are busily arming AQ/al Nusra in Syria .....This made my eyes pop!
An apple-sized amount of plutonium in a nuclear device and detonated in a highly populated area could instantly kill or wound hundreds of thousands of people, according to the Nuclear Security Governance Experts Group (NSGEG)lobby group.
Conundrum? -A nuclear reactor is a power plant, that uses nuclear fission to eventually generate electricity.-An atom bomb also uses nuclear fission to generate energy causing an explosion. Both processes generate lots and lots of radiation. -While a nuclear reactor can never explode like an atomic bomb, an explosion can still occur.

BUT! Three nuclear power plants that went into complete meltdown within days is not a problem for the IAEA. Or the world. You. Me. Our children. Our children's children. Etc.,As mentioned in this post :Japan's radiation disaster toll: none dead, none sick But a dirty bomb, the IAEA informs us, could kill and sicken 100's of thousands.Sensing the disconnect in that narrativeThe IAEA is pushing the fear meme "terrorism" for control. But is dead silent on the nuclear holocaust of FukushimaWhy?Fukushima # 1 reactor explodes March 12/2011 Here is the latest on Fukushima. And yes, it is still radiating the entire planet.
Work to remove melted fuel from just one of the three crippled reactors at Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant could start in 2020, the government and Tepco optimistically said Thursday, based on a revised, albeit vague, plan to decommission the stricken complex, a process expected to take decades.
The original melted-fuel extraction was expected to start in 2021, but the government, without elaborating, (?) believes an improvement in work efficiency can move the date forward. Tepco, however, said an exact start date currently is hard to forecast because the position and state of the fuel in reactors 1, 2 and 3, which suffered core meltdowns, remains unclear and all the utility can do at present is try, with makeshift equipment, to keep water circulating through the damaged containment vessels to prevent further massive radioactive fallout.
