ISIS Capture Large Number of US, European Hostages in US-Controlled Eastern Syria

According to military-diplomatic source, there are a large number of foreign citizens among hostages being kept by Daesh terrorists in Hajin area, a small city in eastern Syria, administratively part of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, located along the Euphrates River, south of Deir ez-Zor.
Note that this is also an area which has been effectively under US and Kurdish SDF militia occupation and control for last two years. Continued high-profile incidents like this now used as justification for the US and its allies to continue their illegal occupation of eastern Syria in contravention of international law…

Al Masdar News reports…
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:50 P.M.) – The so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) has taken as many as 700 people hostage in eastern Syria, Russia Today reported two days ago.
ISIS has vowed to shoot ten people a day if the United States and their allies do not meet their demands in eastern Syria.
Daesh terrorists “have delivered ultimatums and made certain demands, threatening … to shoot ten people every day,” the Russian leader stated, adding that the hostage-takers already started carrying out their threats and executed ten hostages two days ago, RT reported.
Of the 700 people taken hostage by the Islamic State, several are citizens of the United States and Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.
Putin has criticized the U.S. forces in eastern Syria for allowing the Islamic State to kidnap 700 people; he called this action a “catastrophic failure” for Washington.
“This is just horrible, it is a catastrophe,” Putin said, adding that the US forces that claim to control the area around the East bank of the Euphrates River, relying on the Kurdish armed forces on the ground, stay conspicuously silent on this crisis.
“Some US and European citizens are among the hostages,” the president warned, noting that “everyone is silent … as if nothing has happened”.
“They [the US] have clearly fallen short of their target,” Putin said, adding that Washington and its allies apparently failed to combat terrorists in the part of Syria they occupy.
