“If you do not leave, you will go to jail,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Andrew Isaacs told PINAC reporter Joshua Brown last week as he was on assignment covering a Joe Biden speech at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte.

Confusing a book for a gun, a North Carolina cop shot and killed an unarmed 43-year-old man Tuesday, according to his daughter, who posted a video of the shooting’s aftermath on Facebook.
But Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Keith Lamont Scott was armed and posed an “imminent deadly threat to the officers,” which is why he had to die.
They say they were in the area to serve an arrest warrant, which had nothing to do with Scott.

A North Carolina cop who tasered an unarmed man to death earlier this year was indicted by a grand jury on manslaughter charges Tuesday.
The incident took place on March 3 when Kenly police officer Jesse Craig Santifort tasered Alexander Warren Thompson after a high-speed car chase through two counties that ended when Thompson wrecked his vehicle.
Santifort claims Thompson came charging towards him, which was when he tasered him four times.
“Central, I have tased him,” Santifort reported to dispatch, according to an audio recording.

A Stanford research study about police bias in traffic stops is getting increasing buzz.

A North Carolina cop impregnated a 14-year-old girl while mentoring her in an attempt to prove that “policemen are good.”
Now Lowell police officer James Paul Blair, 51, is sitting in jail on a charge of statutory rape, according to WSOC-TV.
The girl’s mother said she was reluctant to allow Blair to become friendly with her daughter after she had run away, but allowed it because she had trust in police.

Highway State Trooper Jermaine Saunders was apparently irate the man did not stop for seven miles after he lit up his patrol car’s lights behind him for speeding.
But Daniel Harris, 29, a hearing and speech-impaired father of a four-year-old boy – who possibly did not hear the sirens – did not stop until he pulled up to his family’s house.
Harris was a father of a now-four-year-old boy.

PFASs have been used for decades in a wide variety of industrial and commercial products, including non-stick coatings on pans, food wrappers, water-repellent clothing, and firefighting foam.
