Bradley Manning (aka Chelsea Manning) is now less than 24 hours away from his early release from prison. Manning was to have served 35 years behind bars, but shortly before leaving office, Barack Obama commuted Manning’s sentence.
Manning has been in US custody since 2010.
Bradley Manning’s story is both a tragic and heroic one.
Born in the United States in 1987, Manning moved with his mother to Wales where he faced bullying at school. In 2007, he enlisted in the US army after working some menial jobs back in America.

In a stunning new report, CNN has just revealed, according to anonymous sources at least, that US authorities have prepared charges and will seek the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for intelligence leaks dating all the way back to 2010.

The malady, common among political leaders who commit heartless crimes while craving popular adulation as heroes and misunderstood saints, is ‘Political Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy’ (PMSP). PMSP best explains the pathologic drive of politicians and policy makers who inflict relentless, systematic mass destruction and then intervene in a most theatrical manner to save a few victims – thus drawing gratitude from the victim […]
Julian Assange continues to clarify his remarks on his misunderstood ‘quid-pro-quo’ where he stated that he would accept extradition to the US in exchange for former President Obama granting clemency to Bradley/Chelsea Manning.
Now, Assange has stated that he is willing to engage with the US Department of Justice to see if a meaningful, safe and just agreement of some kind can be reached. But crucially, Assange is not going to throw his life to the dogs.
Assange said the following in an interview with Australia’s Channel 10,
Tears flowed freely down my face as I told my partner that Chelsea’s imprisonment is commuted.
Contradictions galore! The jingoist nation’s most warring president just committed the one decent thing in his eight years of war-making against seven nations, conjuring up false enemies with competing capitalist states Russia and China, and harsh treatment against all the whistle-blowers during his contentious term.
