Austin Civil Rights attorney Mike Siegel has been working hard to replace the richest Republican in Congress, reactionary Trumpist Michael McCaul, for nearly 4 years. Barr, Pompeo, Trumpanzee and PenceUPDATE: With 100% of parishes reporting, Governor John Bel Edwards (D) was reelected in red, red Louisiana, despite-- or more likely because of-- a barrage of Trump's carrying on and tons and tons of Republican sewer money:

Alabama Senator Doug Jones isn't my idea of a Democrat. His record-- although not as bad as Arizona psychopth Kyrsten Sinema's-- is horrifying. It's not easy for a Democrat to rack up a worse voting record than Joe Manchin... but Jones, in an effort to extend his stay in the Senate, has managed to do so. He votes like a moderate Republican.

Alabama and Kansas are very different demographically-- Alabama, for example, has a sizable African-American population (26.4%) and Kansas' African-American population is just 5.6%-- but the two states have something very much in common: both are Republican bastions. Alabama's PVI is R+14 and Kansas' is R+13. In 2016, Hillary won just 34% in Alabama and 36% in Kansas. Alabam's politics is based on racism.

John Merrill, Alabama's Secretary of State isn't very old-- just 55... but clearly going after the senior vote in his quest to win the super-contested Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat next year.
