A big chunk of the trillions of dollars that it pumped into the financial system over the past several years has flowed into emerging markets. But now that the Fed has decided to begin "the taper", investors see it as a sign to pull the "hot money" out of emerging markets as rapidly as possible. This is causing currencies to collapse and interest rates to soar all over the planet.

The banks and corporations have not used the handouts from governments and central banks for productive investment—to rebuild crumbling infrastructures or expand the productive forces. The Financial Times reported Friday that US capital spending is expected to grow this year at its slowest pace in four years.

The central charge Chilcot appears likely to make is that the decision on war was the beginning, not the end, of the process; that an agreement on military action was made early, and secretly, with President Bush; and that it was done without evidential justification, proper procedures, legal advice or adequate military planning. All three of these were later twisted to fit, most disastrously in the case of the planning, which was kept secret for far too long, meaning that coalition forces were completely unprepared to occupy, secure and rebuild the country they had broken.

Today, it is clearer than ever to a growing number of people that there is something seriously wrong with 'the news'. The current system of planet-crushing propaganda relies on a mere façade of overall 'balance', 'reasonableness' and 'range of views'. Is it just me, or do you also see a thread of colonial superiority and racism binding US, Australia, Canada to Israel?

I want, at this time, to remind readers here of the G20 protests in Toronto, Canada.I want to remind readers how our government in Canada really supports the rights of peaceful protestors.I want to ask Canadians and Americans why it is our governments always put down peaceful protests with such violence? And  why our police forces resort to using provocateurs in amongst the crowds to justify the heavy handed, ultra violent responses.Recall?

Germany considering troops increase in African missions

BETHLEHEM – A Palestinian state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will not be established within the coming 20 years, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Authority’s ruling party Fatah said on Saturday.
Tawfiq Tirawi told Beirut-based al-Mayadeen satellite channel on Friday that “It is not possible under any circumstances that a Palestinian state will be established in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip 20 years from now.”

The protestors were never peaceful.... The protestors only made demands.The protestors do not want compromise. They want their way. Like petulant children.Does this look to be peaceful protests?Protesters lit tires aflame during clashes with riot police in Kiev. Clashing with riot police? I don't see any clashing? I don't see any riot police? I just see people setting fires and damaging property.
