Mmm.
by Denis A. Conroy for the Saker blog One imagines… from outside of America at least…that the political system there, robust one year, retro the next, is on its way
The first-order effect is that we’ll have gridlock, and that’s not a bad outcome as far as I’m concerned. Simply stated, that means less legislation, which presumably means less mischief from Washington.
There was plenty of noise in the run up to today’s mid-term election in the US, but were there any real differences when it comes to substantive issues? Or was it all about manufactured outrages designed to motivate people to support this or that tribe with no real thought? Was there any real debate on war? Privacy? NSA spying? None at all! The most important election in our lifetime? Ha! Tune in to today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:
Nic Cage possesses me at will to cover the 2018 election and bring to attention the reality that is the only way to save America – decoding the mysteries of Nic Cage and National Treasure (as well as Con Air). This will be a stream for the record books – so bring your bunny and “I’m gonna show you God exists.”
More than any other US Midterm Election in living memory, this contest is being billed as a referendum on the incumbent president, Donald J. Trump. At present, the country is polarized – split right down the middle, but POTUS is making some unexpected inroads. With all of the negative campaigning though, few commentators are able to articulate why this is happening.

Under the legislation, gun purchasers would have up to three years of their social media history potentially scrutinized by authorities. The internet search history of prospective gun buyers would face searches going back up to one year.
Politico: "The general consensus among Republicans is that they will lose the House, and end up in at least a five-seat minority-- that would correspond to a 28-seat loss. Senior Republicans tell us that even in a worst-case scenario, they do not expect to lose 40 seats.
Sputnik – 06.11.2018 Washington implemented tough unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic on Monday following President Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal in May. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has condemned Washington’s decision to slap Tehran with sanctions, calling the restrictions “absolutely illegitimate” and deeply disappointing, and saying that it was “unacceptable” to hold […]

The US Continues to Isolate Itself
By weaponizing the reserve currency role of the US dollar, Washington has caused countries to abandon the dollar as the means of transacting their trade and financial affairs. The illegal sanctions Washington imposes has resulted in alternatives to the dollar based clearance system. Washington’s substitution of coercion and threat for diplomacy since the collapse of the Soviet Union has undermined US power.
Oddly enough I wrote a post similar to this March 01/ 2017:

Sputnik – 06.11.2018 Moscow is expecting explanations and apologies from the Norwegian authorities over the arrest of Russian citizen Mikhail Bochkarev in Oslo in September on fabricated espionage charges, the Russian Embassy in Norway said Tuesday. “This provocation involves people who ordered it and those who carried it out. They must be held responsible. Russia […]
Consumers need not correctly understand how something is accomplished to be well served by market competition. This is not the case for voters and politics.
By Prof. Graeme McQueen | Global Research | November 1, 2018 Onto the 24-hour reality show that is U.S. politics, 15 package bombs recently made their entrance. The devices were sent to vocal opponents of Mr. Trump, most of them prominent members of the Democratic Party. The incident became public on October 25, less than […]

Obviously doubtful claims about new research regarding ocean content reveal how unquestioning Nature, climate scientists and the MSM are.
We all want Trump and his servile, enabling Republicans to lose control of Congress. But many of us feel the Democrats are nothing more than the lesser evil, with a leadership that pursues opportunism and careerism rather than the party's values and principles. How do we change that? One way is to elect as many members of Congress we can who are not beholden to the corrupt party leadership.
Last week I presented the first two parts to an amazing and factual investigation conducted by the Al Jazeera network called "The Lobby US/Israel" that is absolutely a must see by everyone... The evidence presented is so damning to the Jewish freaks that control America, that they are indeed threatening to "yank" the videos to prevent the truth about their control out of the public eye.....
The Vietnam war had a huge impact. 3 million dead Vietnamese, tens of thousands of dead Americans, and millions more on both sides suffering from trauma, depression and drug and alcohol addiction. It also had a major influence on the US public’s willingness to engage in full-scale wars (at least until 9/11). It also had […](

Working closely with Mexico, United Nations agencies are providing food and other necessities to thousands of migrants from Central America who are walking or riding in any vehicle they can find toward the United States. There, they are seeking asylum but face threats from the Trump administration.
The Trump “Resistance” By Michael K. Smith | Legalienate | November 5, 2018 With election day looming (November 6) Trump “resistance” hysteria is at its shrieking worst. Yet again we face “the most important election of our lifetimes,” or as some prefer to put it, “the second most important,” the first being the election of […]
Cato’s Letters reflected John Locke’s ideas of natural rights that were, in turn, reflected in America’s founding. As we enter the voting booth the day after the anniversary of its first installment, we should take its commitment to liberty, and therefore private property, which alone can secure it, with us.
Many genetic engineers have been vocal in their concern over genetically modified (GM) potatoes, but perhaps the most surprising voice is that of Caius Rommens, the creator of 1 type of engineered spud.
By Norman Ball | Full Spectrum Domino | November 1, 2018 Today in America, a tug of war rages between two competing visions of the public interest. One vision is indicative of direct democracy as evidenced by the mammoth and spontaneous Trump rallies. The other is the same ole’ top-down imposition orchestrated by managed democracy‘s “invisible rulers”. Look at the […]
Prince Charles and Lady Camilla arrived in the tiny West African nation of The Gambia the other day on the first leg of a week-long tour of the region to reaffirm ties with Commonwealth countries. But with the couple’s arrival come accusations and fears Britain is reasserting itself via that “neo-colonial institution”.
By M. K. BHADRAKUMAR | Indian Punchline | November 6, 2018 Many a slip between the cup and the lip may be possible when it comes to the Afghan peacemaking, but with the caveat added, prospects for the second Moscow conference on Afghanistan slated for coming Friday have significantly improved with the expected participation by […]
As individuals, the most impactful action we can take to be true catalysts for change occurs not every two years but every single time we open up our wallets and make a purchase. And unlike voting, the power of consumer sovereignty is available to us 365 days of the year.
Alan Grayson's grassroots PAC, The Resistance, did a final appeal for Randy Bryce Sunday evening. At this point, forget about the contribution part, just try to remember if you know anyone who lives in Racine, Kenosha, Janesville, the suburbs south of Milwaukee... and call them and tell them why they should vote for @IronStache. Meanwhile, though Grayson's PAC made some good points.
Fighting Russia, China and al-Qaeda simultaneously requires more money By Philip Giraldi • Unz Review • November 6, 2018 Some believe that the Cold War ended in 1991, when the Soviet Union fell apart. In retrospect, many observers also believe that a golden opportunity was missed to heal the wounds inflicted by over 45 years […]
Expectations have been growing for a new Trump-Putin summit as tensions spike over an outdated Cold War, Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF).
Trump’s National Security Advisor, John Bolton, was recently in Moscow, and relayed to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the White House wanted a Paris meeting. Putin said he was interested in such a meeting.
Both Putin and Trump will be in Paris for the November 11 World War I commemorations, which 60 heads of state and government are expected to attend.
The Office of the State Superintendent of Education investigated the playgroup cooperative in early September and issued a statement saying the group is violating child care facility laws and must get a license to operate.
Indeed, if this election is the one that history will judge as the turning point for Western civilization, then a willful non-participant must be viewed as an other-person. How dare they not fulfill their civic duty!
But, I reject this condemnation of those who choose not to choose. Quite the contrary—I believe in abstinence education when it comes to the ballot box.
Iranian government officials want to know how the Trump administration can get away with punishing Iran and other countries for complying with the internationally recognized nuclear deal signed in 2015. “The US is, in effect, threatening states who seek to abide by Resolution 2231 with punitive measures,” said President Rouhani. “This constitutes a mockery of international decisions and the blackmailing[Read More...]
