Not surprisingly Barack Obama has risen from the murky grey realm of former U.S. Presidents to support his old right-hand man Joe Biden by emotionally criticizing Trump. The main theses of his arguments against The Donald are centered around his use of social and other media as the leader of the United States. He accuses Trump of turning his office into a “reality show” and that Trump needs to “show some interest in taking the job seriously”. Obviously, Obama is not doing this for fun, in the run-up to the election he has to support his Democrat brother and make up some reasons why the Coronavirus is somehow personally Trump’s fault. At least Mr. Hope and Change is loyal to the party to the extent that he could straight-faced declare that the President needs to “discover some reverence for democracy”. This type of feelings-based attack probably didn’t win any new votes but it does ask a question about the social media use of our dear orange leader. Unlike Obama, I would argue to the contrary, that Trump hasn’t gone nearly far enough in using the power of the internet to reinforce and execute his objectives.
Trump was able to use social media rather brilliantly as a candidate at a level that none had seen before. His wealth and Twitter usage allowed him to get around any blockades put up by the Mainstream Media and motivate his Alt-Right, Tea Party, Heartlanders to vote for him. But, sadly, this Twitter tactic has not been used since Trump took office.
Yes, Trump is very active blasting anyone who majorly or mildly criticizes him. But using Twitter to personally attack people doesn’t push his agenda very well. On occasion he has blasted “allies” at Fox News and recently he has waged war on GoodYear Tires for supposedly forbidding any pro-Trump clothing from being worn at work, while allowing/praising BLM and other Liberal-Agenda wear. That’s all well and good but it sure does not look like some grand strategy that he had during his campaign.
The key difference between then and now is that Trump despite his popularity and support (just like Obama himself once had in droves) does not call on the people to take action. In 2016 he wanted them to go out and vote… and they did… but for some reason he and most Conservative politicians globally want the Silent Majority to stay silent sitting at home. Further action beyond voting is “not required”. This is a Democracy where people have the power… sit at home and let the man with the odd hair take care of everything.
The U.S. President seems to understand that there is a very well organized Liberal Soft Power machine working against him and his supposed worldview. Trump has no love for George Soros (who has funded riots in America in the past proving the conspiracy crowd right on this one) but seems unable to make any sort of countermovement against him or this type of technique. Trump finds himself in the dead center of a “swamp” of Soft Power funds, projects and Liberal tenured professors yet seems to want to fight this on his own by occasionally trash talking people.
The interesting thing is that, generally, leaders who want to take a different direction than the Western Globalist Mainstream ALSO seem very unable or unwilling to use the same Soft Power tricks against their aggressors. Just like Trump, the non-West sees growing tides of Color Revolution but is mostly inept and intellectually fighting it.
For every Black Lives Matter protest filled with Starbucks-drinking White kids, Trump should have one of equal or greater numbers pushing for his objectives and occasionally directly pushing against the protestors. As it stands today, if enough people march on the street for something with the Mainstream Media pushing and hyping it as the people’s will, then the government has carte blanc to implement “what the people want”, i.e. what they were told to believe that they want.
It always looks bad when protestors get beaten up by the police, even if the protestors are horribly naive or evil, it somehow triggers natural sympathy to see normies getting crushed by organized men in armor. But this begs the question why do “Conservative” or “People’s” leaders never utilize their own hordes of normies in T-shirts and jeans to fight back? Especially when in a street fight who is going to win, gender-queer bloggers with enough freetime and finanical padding to be activists or MAGA hat-wearing hordes of red-blooded multi-racial hillbilly minutemen?
Going beyond protests and street conflicts, shouldn’t Trump in general make much more direct contact with the masses? In a previous article I broke down one of the many inherent flaws of Western Style Democracy – the people’s inability to understand anything other than dictatorship/monarchy. So, taking into account that humans only understand “great single leader” as the basis of their system, shouldn’t those leaders put on their philosopher robes and try to build a relationship with the populace “teaching” them the wisdom of their political vision?
Major civilizations stood on old guy’s with beards telling them right from wrong for centuries so perhaps the President should metaphorically “stop shaving” and start to deal more directly with the populace? Trump and like-minded individuals can complain all they want that the educational system has become a Liberal brainwashing factory, but for some reason they don’t realize that the President can counteract a lot of that with a massive social media daily onslaught.
Ultimately the rulers of our lifetimes conduct their politics mostly through bureaucracy and law. Society seems to be moved by getting things stamped or changing the definition of what tomatoes are. This Technocracy on the surface seems to “work” but it offers nothing human or spiritual to the masses. Trump’s campaign was very direct, ideological and exciting to the common man, but his Presidency is not. Obama is absolutely wrong (not surprisingly) about what Trump needs to do. If Donald Trump really wants to Make America Great Again then he needs to be more engaged on Social Media and take pages out of the playbook of his adversaries. He has the Silent Majority on his side but needs to actually use them. For every loser Hippy that shows up to a protest Trump should have 5 out-of-work diverse rednecks to dispatch them. The President should keep an open dialogue with the public and explain what he is doing rather than hide away in his ivory tower. Trump needs to be more like the George Soros types that he hates – because they are currently way more effective than he is at creating societal change.
