478 civilians killed, 1,392 injured in eastern Ukraine – Health Ministry

As many as 478 civilians have been killed and 1,392 more injured in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Health Ministry has reported.
“I can say that 1,392 people, including 104 women and 14 children, have been injured,” Deputy Health Minister Vasyl Lazoryshynets said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
“478 were killed. They include 30 women and seven children. These are civilians,” he added.
According to the ministry, 279 people are undergoing treatment in medical institutions.

National Guard lost 12 fighters in east Ukraine since mid-April – chief medical officer
Twelve members of the Ukrainian National Guard have been killed in east Ukraine since the beginning of the security operation, said Oleh Mykhailik, the chief medical officer of the National Guard.
The operation in east Ukraine was announced in mid-April this year following mass protests by supporters of Ukrainian federalization.
“To date, 138 National Guard servicemen have been injured, 29 of them are still being treated. We have 12 servicemen killed,” Mykhailik said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
Meanwhile, on July 2 the National Security and Defense Council said 200 military personnel and law enforcement officers had been killed in east Ukraine, including 13 National Guard fighters, and a total 619 had been injured.
However, on July 10 a spokesperson for the security operation issued a statement giving lower figures for deaths and injuries – 173 and 446, respectively.
The Ukrainian Health Care Ministry said for its part that 478 civilians have been killed in the security operation zone, including 30 women and seven children, and 1,392 were injured. A total of 279 people have been hospitalized.
At the same time, the NSDC said no statistics were kept about civilian deaths in the militia-controlled territories.

IMF mission extends visit to Ukraine until weekend – Finance Ministry
A mission of the International Monetary Fund in Ukraine on the first revision of the stand-by loan program will work in Kyiv till weekend, the Finance Ministry reports.
“The constructive dialogue between the IMF delegation and Ukrainian government members continues,” the ministry said on Thursday. As reported, the IMF Executive Board on April 30 approved a two-year Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine worth about 17 billion U.S. dollars. Early in May, the IMF transferred the first tranche of about 3.2 billion dollars. The second-to-fourth disbursements scheduled for July, September, and December, will total about 1 billion dollars each, while the next quarterly disbursements of 2015 will be around 1.4 billion each. The last, ninth disbursement of will be provided in mid-March 2016 if the terms and conditions stipulated in the program are observed.
