Russia carries on expanding its trade contacts with the countries of Southeast Asia in all possible directions. An important step towards this goal was the beginning of Russia’s livestock products sales on the market of the Republic of Singapore. Singapore is an extremely important partner for Moscow among the ASEAN states. The trade turnover between the two states last year has reached 2 billion dollars.
-by NoahHow’s that for allegory? As soon as news came that President Crazy Pants, aka big orange traitor, aka Putin’s Butt Boy, had fired the man who he feared was getting too close to the truth, speculation as to what name would be issued forth from the bunker as a nominee to replace former FBI Director Comey ran wild. The first two names I thought of, of course, were Rudy Giuliani and Chris Christie, but, my mind didn’t stop there.

We've been talking about TX-21 for over two years now. Blue America backed Berniecrat Tom Wakely, who defeated a Democratic establishment candidate in the primary and then went on-- with no support from the DCCC or the establishment and very little money-- to hold long-time Congressman Lamar Smith to his lowest win number ever.
(ANTIMEDIA Op-Ed) I can forgive a man who loses his temper, but to lose one’s temperance lock, stock, and barrel? That is a damnable offense. Without a sense of moderation, even the most courageous and prudent man will fail in his quest for justice and may even become that which he wishes to destroy.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff have said that North Korea has fired an unknown projectile, widely believed to be a ballistic missile.
This would appear to be the first missile test by North Korea since a failed launch on the 29th of April at the height of tensions with the United States.
This test is also the first since this week’s election of a new seemingly more peace minded South Korean President, Moon Jae-in.

My younger son writes, among other things, fiction set in the world of super heroes and super villains. This morning he pointed me at someone else's work in that genre, a novella: Interviewing Leather. I read it.The narrator is a reporter working for a Rolling Stone equivalent in a world with super heroes and super villains.

If there was ever an article that perfectly summed up the times we live in, it’d have to be the one published yesterday at The Guardian titled, At LA Airport’s New Private Terminal, the Rich Can Watch Normal People Suffer.
Here are a few excerpts:
In the aftermath of the Astana Memorandum and its subsequent implementation, Turkey finds itself in a precarious position. This awkward position is entirely of Turkey’s own making. Rather than staying fully out of the Syrian conflict, let alone choosing one side and sticking to it, Turkey has managed to be on several sides simultaneously.
–Militarily, Turkey is fighting the Syrian government using both its own troops and its terrorist proxy FSA
–Militarily, Turkey is also fighting the Kurds who in turn are fighting jihadists, including the Turkish backed FSA

(ANTIMEDIA Op-Ed) The U.S. has long asserted itself as a peacemaker in the ongoing war in Syria, attempting to paint the country’s president, Bashar al-Assad, as the root cause of the conflict. At the same time, the United States government maintains that peace would be impossible without American interference, which, of course, comes with the added aim of ousting Assad.
Yesterday, we looked at WV-03, Trump's strongest congressional district in West Virginia. He beat Hillary there 72.5-23.3%. It was one of Hillary's worst performances in any district in America. And the point yesterday was that a progressive Democrat, running on a populist economic platform, would stand to win there in 2018 or 2020.

A widespread computer virus attack known as ‘WannaCry’ has been compromising computers with obsolete operating systems across the world. This should be the opening sentence of just about every article on this subject, but unfortunately it is not.
The virus does not attack modern computer operating systems, it is designed to attack the Windows XP operating system that is so old, it was likely used in offices in the World Trade Center prior to September 11 2001, when the buildings collapsed. Windows XP was first released on 25 August, 2001.

The Russians were blamed for this cyber attack by British mainstream’s The Independent, but that article including all its related social media got pulled down quickly. Fake news covered up very quickly.
What’s very interesting is that the highest amount of victims of this cyber attack were based in Russia. Worth thinking about.

In an OpEd in Thursday's NY Post, Paul Sperry asserts that the real reason Señor Trumpanzee canned Jim Comey was because the FBI wasn't investigating something Trump is obsessed with: "Obama aides’ illegal leaks of classified information-- leaks aimed at undermining the incoming Trump administration." Trump sees the Flynn scandal through this prism. No one else seems to have gone off on this tangent, which some congressional Republicans are starting to cling to.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has been meeting with world leaders ahead of the Belt Road Forum for Cooperation, and has been hoping to boost trade and economic deals around the world [Xinhua]
Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with a number of leaders arriving in Beijing to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation which begins May 14.
On Saturday, Xi met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and they announced that they would enhance China-Hungary ties.
There should be no doubt that President Donald Trump’s approval of a plan to directly arm Kurdish forces in Syria is a severe, devastating blow to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s obstinate efforts to undermine the relationship of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party and the People's Protection Units (YPG) with Washington.

Throughout the Middle East, secular leaders who protected the rights of all peoples, including Christians, have been replaced by a combination of weak governments who cannot protect anyone, radical Wahhabist style forces and in some cases, outright chaos. In each case, the anti-Christian regimes have come about after the western sponsored violent overthrow of previous governments who protected Christians.

Harsh words for someone today are transformed into kind words tomorrow.
