The following is an up to date battle map of the Syrian war theatre devised by military analysts at South Front:
This has been a difficult week for Western and Gulf state-backed terrorist militants in Syria. Still, based on all available data, it’s clear that the US and Turkey are still actively protecting al Qaeda and ISIS positions in Syria.
In the northern region of Syria, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) forces and allies entered the terrorist-occupied stronghold Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib, Syria, pushing western-backed terrorist ‘rebels’ from the town they’ve occupied since 2014.
Over in the eastern section of the country, the Russian Air Force unleashed heavy air strikes on a number of ISIS targets near the Deir Ezzor governorate.
Desperate to maintain the increasingly shaky positions held by their terrorist proxy fighters in Syria, NATO allies Turkey and the United States are attempting to revive the defunct 5 year-old plan to launch a “safe zone” in northern Syria, this time around terrorist-occupied Idlib. Far from any ‘humanitarian’ objectives, this latest ‘safe zone’ is a concerted move designed to provide terrorists a corridor by which to move supplies and weapons being trafficked into Syria from Turkey – which will only extend the length of the current 8 year-long war.
