High powered figures in foreign countries are finally coming out against NATO.
German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has branded NATO as a ‘warmongering‘ force within Eastern Europe.
He has specifically attacked recent NATO exercises near Russia, speaking these very wise words:
“Whoever believes that a symbolic tank parade on the alliance’s eastern border will bring security is mistaken,”
“We are well-advised to not create pretexts to renew an old confrontation,”
Unsurprisingly, he has been practically branded as a traitor, as the German mainstream media has rapidly turned against the Minister.
The Foreign Minister is also eager to phase out economic sanctions against Russia:
“Sanctions are not an end in themselves. They should rather give incentives for a change in behavior,”
“We must still be able to have a joint reflection if we want to find solutions for other big conflicts,”
European leaders are perhaps, finally, drawing a line in the sand against US interference causing chaos in Europe while the Americans feel absolutely none of the repercussions.
