(ANTIMEDIA) As Attorney General Jeff Sessions continues to lament what he views as a blight on society, a new study is showing that states with medical marijuana programs are seeing drastic reductions in opioid-related hospitalizations and overdoses.

DENVER  — Colorado is considering an unusual strategy to protect its nascent marijuana industry from a potential federal crackdown, even at the expense of hundreds of millions of dollars in tax collections.
A bill pending in the Legislature would allow pot growers and retailers to reclassify their recreational pot as medical pot if a change in federal law or enforcement occurs.

According to one family in the U.K., cannabis helped a dying teenage boy recover fully from complications from leukemia. The family recently appeared on the British talk show, This Morning, to discuss their experience.

(DPA) Earlier this week, Attorney General Jeff Sessions delivered a speech to law enforcement officials in which he ranted about the immorality of smoking marijuana and signaled a return to the failed drug-abstinence “Just Say No!” programs of the 1980’s.

Trump’s pick to head the Department of Justice has long opposed cannabis and enthusiastically supported the war on drugs. Though he reportedly recently assured congressional lawmakers he would not be instituting a crackdown on weed in states where it’s legal, his rhetoric against the increasingly accepted plant is concerning.

(ANTIMEDIA) A day before notorious drug warrior Senator Jeff Sessions assumed the role of Attorney General in President Trump’s administration this week, another lawmaker introduced legislation to protect states’ rights on cannabis.
Republican Representative Dana Rohrabacher of Orange County, California, submitted a bill on Tuesday with the express purpose of amending the Controlled Substance Act to remove legal punishments for the production, distribution, and use of cannabis when individuals are acting within the laws of their own states.

Cannabis use is fairly common in Israel.
