  The bell is tolling loudly now-- and the Republicans finally-- albeit too late-- hear it, as their pollsters and operatives tell them that Democrats are turning out more low-frequency and newly registered voters than Republicans are. Marc Caputo and Zach Montellaro report that the early vote lead for Democrats is massive. As of yesterday, 52,718,496 people had already voted 36,518,179 by mail and I16,200,317 in person.

A wave election shouldn't be that hard to understand. This one is easier than most: voters hate Trump and his enablers and want to defeat them. It has nothing much to do with the lesser evil party. Relatively few people are voting for Biden; everyone is voting against Trump-- and his enablers. Biden wasn't the worst Democrat in the primary; Bloomberg was. But Biden was a close second worst.

 "Don't Let It Dominate Your Life" by Nancy Ohanian Trump, possibly dying from COVID, cancelled his Ambridge, Pennsylvania (Beaver County, 16 miles northwest of Pittsburgh) rally early yesterday morning but promised he would be doing a rally in Florida today or tomorrow.

Cook is usually a lagging indicator. They do not move on a dime. If they move a race from "leans Republican" to "toss up," it probably means you should expect a big loss for the GOP.

What could make the anti-red wave bigger and higher? Mitch McConnell. He's already the most despised senator in the whole country but now he's running around salivating over the prospect of destroying Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, the ultimate, decades-long Republican dream. This is exactly what he and Ryan plotted when they passed the enormous and highly unpopular tax-cut for multimillionaires and billionaires last year.

Pointless, meaningless national generic go up and go down. Nervous candidates, campaign operatives, radio hosts, reporters ask "Do you think there will be a blue wave?" My opinion has changed all year. The answer is yes. The question is just about how big will it be. Big enough to win back the House? Absolutely. Big enough to defeat 50 House Republicans? Probably. 75? Possibly. 100?

Monday morning, the right-wing Washington Examiner tried painting a picture that the Blue Wave is no sure thing. I guess they hoped no one would dig down into their article-- which pretty much shows-- as far as anything 4 months away can do-- that it really is.

Trump beat Hillary in Mississippi 700,714 (57.9%) to 485,131 (40.1%). Basically, Hillary won the black belt counties in the western part of the state and Trump won the rest. She won Bennie Thompson's congressional district 64-35% and Trump won the 3 other congressional districts by around the same number, reversed. The statewide PVI is R+9 so those numbers were predictable.
