Like most progressive groups that look for worthy congressional candidates, Blue America has added a new filter to guage where candidates are likely to wind up on a spectrum that creates a few worthy leaders. That new filter is about the Black Lives Matter movement.
To be fair, none of the Republican presidential hopefuls have good planks on support for American families. Their misogyny is showing. And so is their fear that Trump will continue sucking up all the oxygen in the room with his bizarre right-wing pronouncements. Jeb strategy has been careening back and forth between trying to play the role of the vaguely mainstream adult in the room and trying, quite inauthentically, to get to the right of Trump.

The impact and influence of the song is probably unprecedented-- or at least was when I was growing up in the 1960s. Ohio Senate candidate and former Governor Ted Strickland is less than a decade older than I am but the '60s was still part of his growing to maturity era.
Although his supporters assure me he's no longer anti-Choice or anti-LGBT, Blue America is unlikely to ever endorse right-of-center Ohio Democrat Ted Strickland, a former congressman and governor. He was never a Blue America type of politician and he's not a Blue America kind of candidate. His opponent, incumbent Rob Portman, is of course worse... much worse.

The carpetbagger currently running for Buck McKeon's seat in CA-25 represented the state Senate district that included this weekend's Isla Vista murder rampage.
