In Baltimore Guilty Cops May Soon Have to Pony Up

BALTIMORE – As the Baltimore Police Department currently sits front and center in a massive corruption trial, talk of having individual police officers be fiscally responsible for the lawsuits against them is making the rounds. Two officers in Baltimore’s Gun Trace Task Force were found guilty earlier this week of racketeering and robbery in the federal trial. Six other officers pleaded guilty prior to trial and are currently awaiting sentencing.

Israel Moves To Thwart UN List Of Companies Complicit In Illegal Settlements

The Israeli government and its allies are mobilizing to try and thwart a United Nations list of companies complicit in illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt).
These efforts are taking place in parallel to significant initiatives by figures within and outside of the Israeli government to normalize the presence of the settlements, moves which could contribute towards a future, formal annexation of sections of the West Bank.

Nearly 3,500 Israeli Settlement Homes Built On Private Palestinian Land

Data from Israel’s Civil Administration has revealed that some 3,455 settler homes in the occupied West Bank were illegally built on privately-owned Palestinian land.
Of those, roughly 45% are built on land whose owners are well-established, with the rest built on definitely Palestinian lands, but whose specific owners the Israeli government hasn’t figured out.
