The National Frozen Food Corporation has issued a voluntary recall of some of its frozen peas and mixed vegetables due to a possible listeria contamination. Included in the recall are any frozen peas and mixed vegetables packaged between September 2 and June 2 which have the brand name First Street, Bountiful Harvest, Great Value, Market Pantry, and Live Smart. Green Cuisine is also recalling their pesto salad with arugula due to possible listeria contamination.

Those with a peanut allergy should be warned that Kellogg’s has now recalled several of their snacks due to undeclared peanut residue. This new recall echoes the recent action taken by Hostess snacks who also recalled a large amount of inventory due to the same issue.

Hostess Brand, which produces the famous Twinkie snack cake, has recalled 710,000 cases of food products over possible presence of peanut residue. This can be particularly serious for customers who suffer a peanut allergy, as the residue can spark an allergic reaction.

Kashi bars are the latest product to be recalled over a listeria concern. The California-based company has recalled a selection of their famous granola bars due to a possible outbreak of listeria in the sunflower seeds they use in some of their foods.

General Mills has recalled an estimated 10 million pounds of flour over fears that they contain the E. coli bacterium. Over 38 people have been stricken with the virus in over 20 states, and General Mills has linked it to their flour.

Taiwan has recalled Quaker Oats after a random inspection by the country’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) detected glyphosate in amounts exceeding the nation’s legal limits in 10 out of 36 products.
It has been a rough month for Quaker Oats. The company has been under intense public scrutiny since trace amounts of glyphosate, the toxic ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup, was detected in its products. A class action was filed in early May over the discovery by consumers who allege Quaker Oats’ “100% natural” label constitutes false advertising.
