Journalist Abby Martin Sues State of Georgia Over Law Requiring Pledge of Allegiance to Israel

After refusing to sign a pledge of allegiance to the state of Israel, the state of Georgia shut down a media literacy conference featuring journalist and filmmaker Abby Martin at Georgia Southern University. Martin had recently released a documentary critical of the Israeli government called “Gaza Fights for Freedom.” Now she is suing the state, claiming the decision is a violation of the First Amendment.

US Spy Agencies Sued for Failing To Warn Khashoggi of Threat

US spy agencies are being sued for failing to warn slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi that he was facing threat and danger. The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, which “defends the freedoms of speech and the press in the digital age”, filed the lawsuit yesterday at the US District Court for the District of Columbia over intelligence agencies’ failure to uphold a US government policy.

Lawsuit Alleges LaCroix Sparkling Water Contains Cockroach Insecticide

Sparkling water containing “all natural” flavors is all the rage these days, but one manufacturer is being sued over allegations that its natural ingredients are anything but natural.
Filed against the parent company of LaCroix sparkling water, the lawsuit alleges that the beverages contain artificial ingredients, including one found in cockroach insecticide.
The suit was filed on behalf of customer Lenora Rice and claims that testing revealed the artificial ingredients.
