Amidst a COVID-19 outbreak, around 100 detained migrants at a private, for-profit prison in Farmville, VA, have collectively gone on hunger strike, demanding their release on medical and humane grounds. That is according to Sanctuary DMV, a volunteer organization helping immigrants in the Washington, D.C. area. Phone lines to the dorms have been cut and visits have been suspended. Inmates claim that one dorm is under strict quarantine.

Operation Palladium has begun. Hundreds of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have entered New York and other sanctuary cities in a fresh attempt to round up undocumented immigrants. The directive, according to officials, is simple: arrest as many undocumented immigrants as possible and “flood the streets” with officers.

Christopher Puente was arrested for theft in June of 2019 and should have been held by Chicago police on a detainer from ICE so he could be deported, but Chicago is a sanctuary city that denies ICE detainer requests.

Jonathan Coreas-Salamanca, a 20-year old illegal alien from El Salvador, is accused of repeatedly raping an 11-year old girl, and faces up to 55 years in prison.

The Department of Justice filed civil lawsuits on sanctuary jurisdictions across the US asking judges to overturn the policies, and warning state and city officials they could face their own criminal charges for harboring illegal immigrants.

Khan was previously released from local law enforcement custody in November 2019 with an active ICE detainer, due to New York City’s sanctuary policies. A spokeswoman for NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed the mayor’s sympathies and chastised President Donald Trump’s administration for “politicizing this tragedy."

There now are 15 states that allow illegal aliens to obtain drivers licenses: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, New Mexico, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.

An anti-ICE protester took a plea deal and a three year prison sentence after using a flag pole to attack a 60-year old disabled man. According to court papers, Pierce told jailers that he uses THC daily and LSD intermittently. He said he was homeless and living off food stamps.

Luciano Trejo-Dominguez was arrested by New Jersey police for allegedly sexually assaulting a child between 13 to 15 years old. ICE was not notified, and Trejo-Dominguez was released. A second illegal immigrant, Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz, was arrested on charges of 3rd-degree rape of a minor under 17.
