When the US voted for the first time to strike down a resolution upholding Syria's right to the Golan Heights, which Israel captured during the 1967 war, the Trump administration accepted permanent Israeli control of Golan, although that violates international law and also US policy.

The Jerusalem Post has removed an ‘explosive report’ confirming the Israeli military supplied light weapons and ammunition to Syrian militants or ‘rebels’ in Syria’s Golan Heights.

Syria is building up its ground forces to pre-war size according to Israel. On August 7th, Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman spoke in front of reporters during a tour of the Golan Heights. “Across the way we see the Syrian military, which is not satisfied with just taking over all of Syrian territory but is expressly building a broad-based, new ground army that will return to its previous proportions and beyond,” Lieberman commented. He also added that Israel follows all developments and is ready for any scenario.

GOLAN HEIGHTS — Israel’s military has reported that it used two U.S.-made Patriot missiles to shoot down a Syrian Sukhoi fighter jet on Tuesday, with reports indicating that the pilot — identified as Colonel Umran Mare — died soon after his plane crashed.

Overnight Saturday Israel evacuated 800 White Helmets members and their families from southern Syria in an operation that took them briefly into Israeli territory and then on to Jordan, where they are expected to be resettled in Britain, Canada, and Germany, according to officials in Amman.
