New York City (BAR) — Everything has changed since the world witnessed George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police. Suddenly, workers are publicly criticizing their bosses. Politicians are backpedaling and newspapers face revolts when they are caught spreading propaganda. In Europe and the United States monuments to genocidaires are defaced and pulled down.
There have been U.S. presidential candidates in our lifetimes that seemed like really pathetic offerings such as the soulless human business suit that is Mitt Romney. There have been some that could have competed. had they gotten the big nomination, if not for one big mistake like Howard Dean. And there are some that just had really tough incumbent competition that they had no hope of defeating like Walter Mondale. However, as it stands today there is no (serious) candidate in the past few generations of American society worse than today’s Joe Biden.

We are entering the final stages of the election to decide who will head the most powerful nation on Earth. That inevitably means the progressive and dissident left in the U.S. are again being deluged with arguments to vote for the lesser-evil candidate.

This week, the US House voted in a virtual whip line 208 to 199, to pass the third Coronavirus Relief Bill, this time totaling some $3 Trillion. The bill represents yet another round of direct cash payments for Americans, and unemployment benefits to the end of January, hazard pay for front-line workers, virus-testing efforts, contact tracing and money treatment.
