Fueled by Climate Change, California’s Raging Wildfires Are Threatening Vulnerable Communities First
Fires in California are typical this time of year, but the length and severity of the state’s fire season has grown due to climate change.

Issa (left) and Hunter (right)We all love a good dirty brawl-- especially when the two dirty brawlers are so patently repulsive that you can literally hope they both rip each other's heads off. Welcome to California's 50th congressional district, First a little background on the district itself. It's an overwhelmingly suburban district, mostly (90%) in inland San Diego County, with a slice in Riverside County.
By Tina Stevens and Stuart A. Newman | CounterPunch | September 26, 2019 In September, California’s legislature passed AB 922, a bill legalizing the payment to women for their eggs for research purposes. I was supposed to have dinner with a friend at Nerano, a small, low-key, out-of-the-way restaurant in Beverley Hills tonight. But we cancelled the reservation and moved our destination to a Turkish restaurant, Kismet, on the East Side instead. Our goal wasn't about cuisine-- although Kismet is amazing, especially the marinated feta-- but to get as far away from the Trumpanzee Circus on the West Side. He was at a mystery dinner last night and a mystery breakfast today.Southern California activists wanted to protest Trump's two appearances in Beverly Hills. But they couldn't.
The last time Sara Jacobs ran for Congress, it was in the Orange County/San Diego County district that Darrell Issa had abandoned as "too blue." It also turned out to be "too blue" for the Qualcomm heiress. She spent gigantically in the primary-- $2,714,931, of which $2,125,798 (78%) came out of personal money her family gave her. The biggest single candidate expenditure-- by FAR (like nearly by a factor of 10!)-- that EMILY's List made-- $2,362,544-- in 2018 was for Jacobs.
Donald And The Purple CrayonAlthough decline-to-state voters (independents) now out-number Republicans in California, the party isn't dead in the state. Republicans no longer win any statewide races-- and even a weak candidate like Hillary beat Trump in the state 8,753,788 (61.73%) to 4,483,810 (31.62%). 2020 looks like a year in which Trump won't get out of the 20s.
