Syria/Turkey Conflict? Contradictions Abound. Meanwhile, US Expands Military Presence in Northeastern Syria.

Press TV I've been reading and can't help but notice contradictory reporting everywhere. Out of context quoting... and more.  Did Turkey beef up it's presence?  Or did the US beef up it's presence in Syria's north? Did Turkey launch airstrikes? It doesn't seem so.  Syrian media didn't mention that.  Russia said no Turkish planes violated Syrian airspace. Odd?

"Erdogan said Monday Turkey's F-16 warplanes were involved in the attack against 40 points in Idlib, claiming that 30-35 Syrians were "neutralized" in the aggression.

Hmmmm.... did Erdogan say that?

The alleged attack came after Turkey beefed up its presence in the region and warned of a military offensive if the ongoing operation by Syrian government forces against foreign-backed Takfiri militants continues.Turkey’s Defense Ministry said four Turkish soldiers were killed and nine others injured in intense shelling by Syrian government forces in Idlib earlier Monday.Erdogan said, "We have responded in kind to these attacks and will continue to do so, whether it is with our artillery or mortars."

So, Erdogan is quoted talking artillery and mortars, but, the claim is F-16's were used.  We've got a contradiction.

Russia's Defense Ministry said the Turkish military came under fire from Syrian government forces because Moscow had not been warned about Turkey's operations in Idlib.

Turkish air force planes, the ministry said, did not violate Syria's border and no attacks on Syrian troops were recorded. Syria's state news agency SANA, meanwhile, did not report any Turkish airstrike.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in London, did not report a Turkish airstrike either and instead said at least six Syrian government troops had been killed by shelling.

Russia says no Turkish planes violated Syria's border and no mention of attacks on Syrian troops. SOHR doesn't report airstrikes- only soldiers killed by shelling. Additional info on Turkish Shelling...

Syrian Observatory activists confirmed that the Turkish forces carried intensive rocket shelling this morning, targeting the controlled areas of the Syrian regime and Syria Democratic Forces in the vicinity of Ain Issa, north of Al-Raqqah. No information was reported so far about casualties.

On January 30, SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted between SDF and Turkish-backed factions following an attempt by the factions to advance into SDF positions in “Um Al-Kief” village and its silos in Tal Tamr countryside. SDF thwarted the attack and inflicted human and material losses in the ranks of the attacking forces.

US forces expand military presence in north-east Syria

US forces are expanding their military presence in the two largest military bases at the Omar and Tal Baydar oil fields controlled by Kurdish units in the north-east of Syria.

The American army recently dispatched military and logistical equipment through Iraq to Syria in order to expand its bases in the oil-rich areas. They thwarted four attempts by Russian forces to advance towards the Rumaila oil field in January.

The American forces are deployed in 11 military bases and points in areas under Kurdish control including Hasakah, Raqqa and Deir Ez-Zor.
