On the heels of this week’s admission by a former New York Times editor that the paper has eschewed all journalistic standards by intentionally running an anti-Trump agenda for profit, another mainstream media whistleblower has come forward admitting that NBC has been running a similar program to the NYT, as well as running PR cover for ‘destructive intelligence agencies’ and the war agenda.
Veteran national security reporter William M. Arkin wrote a farewell message to his colleagues at NBC, which slammed the media organization for its anti-Trump obsession – calling it a “Trump circus,” which he believes has distracted journalists from pursuing real stories which are going unreported as a result of the network’s partisan editorial policy. He described NBC’s war coverage as “ho-hum reporting” which “essentially condones” endless US wars in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as accusing his employer of never talking about “the failures of the generals and national security leaders,” and for becoming “a defender of the government against Trump,” and also a “cheerleader for open and subtle threat mongering.”
In other words, NBC is functioning as a deep state propaganda outlet.
very useful to have all our well known suspicions confirmed from inside. there's a reason revolutions make a priority to take over the tv stations

In his parting essay, Arkin expressed concern that NBC’s infatuation with the “Trump circus” has distracted journalists from reporting on stories that need to be told.
“I’m more worried about how much we are missing. Hence my desire to take a step back and think why so little changes with regard to America’s wars,” he wrote.
He also questioned the mainstream media’s unhinged opposition to Trump’s wanting to improve US relations with Russia, North Korea, and the President’s pledge to withdraw US troops from Syria.
“I’m alarmed at how quick NBC is to mechanically argue the contrary, to be in favor of policies that just spell more conflict and more war. Really? We shouldn’t get out Syria? We shouldn’t go for the bold move of denuclearizing the Korean peninsula? Even on Russia, though we should be concerned about the brittleness of our democracy that it is so vulnerable to manipulation, do we really yearn for the Cold War? And don’t even get me started with the FBI: What? We now lionize this historically destructive institution?”
Arkin takes the media and James Mattis to task, pointing out how the anti-Trump opposition and its mainstream media adjuncts have become one unified war party:
My guess is Mattis 2020. On Syria and Afghanistan (and North Korea) Trump has the right instincts. And on national security stagnation, both in warfare and in thought. Again, he has no ability to implement or even learn but the enemies of Trump shouldn’t become the war party.

When this story broke, establishment trolls were immediately dispatched to try and discredit the NBC correspondent on social media, but journalist Glenn Greenwald was quick to remind critics of Arkin’s past award-winning work with the Washington Post:
He wrote one of the most important series ever written about the national security state for the @washingtonpost – in partnership with two-time Pulitzer winner Dana Priest. So you'll have to find some other way to discredit him https://t.co/VOCfQoVjfN
