Twitter Ramping Up ‘Shitty People’ Program, ‘Shadow Banning’ of Speech It Doesn’t Like

A new series of undercover video reports by Project Veritas, investigating wild and reckless mainstream media bias, suggests Twitter is ramping up development of a ‘shadow banning’ system with algorithms that will filter out the ‘shitty people’ and certain types of speech the social media bird doesn’t like.
The new algo, as explained by Olinda Hassan, a Policy Manager for Twitter’s Trust and Safety team, was revealed during an undercover video taken at a recent Twitter holiday party, Zero Hedge reports:
“Yeah. That’s something we’re working on. It’s something we’re working on. We’re trying to get the shitty people to not show up. It’s a product thing we’re working on right now.”
Project Veritas’ full video report also features a clip with a Twitter software engineer who explains their ‘shadow banning’ or ‘ghost banning’ system, which is a well-known tactic employed by social media sites, including Facebook, in an attempt to censor their user base. Watch:

For anyone who has been active on social media platforms, especially in the controversial field of trying to get the truth out, stories of being banned, posts disappearing, and selective censorship are nothing new. The only difference this year is that certain social media gatekeepers might genuinely believe they have been given some sort political mandate, or social license to carry out the routine task of shutting-up or disappearing political speech or challenging information which they believe is either ‘fake news,’ or ” Russian propaganda.”

Anyone who thinks this is OK just because it suits their present partisan or ideological agenda – is really endorsing a new type of corporate tyranny. By definition, this is fascism. Here’s one pundit’s take on what seems to be an ever more common occurrence.
One of the most interesting aspects of this debate is how these corporations practice the art of plausible deniability, essentially dismissing the claims by saying it’s not a liberal or conservative filter, it’s just about harassing and violent speech, as one tech outlet attempts to explain. In reality, it’s a facade designed to erase dissenting opinion that doesn’t fit with the mainstream narrative, and particularly when it comes to anti-war speech and critiques of the current Russiamania craze dominating the current mainstream media landscape. Even 21st Century Wire has experienced ‘shadow banning’ on Twitter (see picture above).
Last July, we retweeted a tweet from Robert Parry’s Consortium News account. He tweeted an article from his website that criticized the New York Times for their “one-sided Russia-gate hysteria.” Our retweet never appeared on the 21WIRE timeline. We certainly didn’t see it there. Did anybody else? And if so, how many of our followers? Very shitty.
Is it any surprise this apparent ramp up of the Digital Tyranny cartel is happening right after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s trip to Washington?
